I'm very excited about this Catt. intermedia v. aquinii x Catt. intermedia aquinii. Although it looks more like 'Arrandeam' than aquinii so far! I think I like intermedias the best of the Catts and this is the first time I've had one bloom ever. And there are three more buds!
Name: Carol Santa Ana, ca Sunset zone 22, USDA zone 10 A.
Those are both precious kathy! Wish I had something to post, but nothing new till later this month. Lots of buds if this cold, dry wind doesn't ruin them.
And another hope-it appears that I have a bud on my Paphinia cristata. I bought it last year with a bud and it never made it, but that was in the cold room. So I'm hoping it decides to make flowers this time. I propped it upward with a rock. Someone suggested I use pumice.
Kathy, it took me awhile to get these two posted. It's been awhile since I was here last, so had to look through all the pictures posted here. Wow, such beauties.
This one opened 3 days ago.
I'm waiting for the second bloom to open here. I hope the new bloom is the right shape this time!! I wonder if I should have grown it warm this winter. I have all the laelias in the cool room.
Hate to see that Aerangis, Kathy. Both of mine bloomed nicely this year. My orchids in general took a pounding form the cold and constant trips to and from the garage. The dendrobiums lost most of there leaves and the phals are unhappy from the wild temperature swings. Some of the vanda blooms are very small and sickly. I did get a rare paph bloom but I'm not expecting much activity for at least a year.
