Stilldew- is your paph Gina short a primulinum x delanati cross? Your petal tips look more rounded though than mine maybe. Heres mine which i think is called delphyllum.

According to OrchidWiz, Paph. Gina Short is Paph Pinocchio x Paph. delenatii. One third delenatii, one third primulinum, and one third glaucophyllum.

I tip my hat to you.
Covered my orchids from rain last night...but want some NOW, so I don't need to water. Just got the new version of OrchidWiz. It's an orchid program that was very expensive but I sure do use it a lot. The new features include a world map where you can go to an area and see what orchids are indigenous. I just did a slide show for Massachusetts. Lots more orchids than I knew of. Gotta get Ursula's Klaus to come and find them all. I also found out if I ever want to bloom my 20 odd Chinese cymbidiums, I need to get them into full sun except mid day! Well the other ones are burning leaves in full sun even with shade cloth over them 100% of the time. What's a girl to do? Blinking I suspect I will come up with something. Maybe I can do morning sun....better n nothing!

Oh yes! That DH of mine is the best Orchid spotter. He truly finds that 1 single spike in a field of Grasses and assorted Wildflowers. I then come and find the one or two Orchids next to that one nearby.....

How about placing the Cymbidiums under a tree at first and then moving them slowly into the sun?

We finally got some soaking rains! I had been collecting the water from the central air-conditioning to daily top off the pond and bog, about 20 Gallons a day!!
I still had enough rain water to last me another week in the containers to water the Orchids. Full to the brim now.

Can a light meter be useful? "Full sun" is a loaded term. I know that what that means here and what it was in Mass are 2 very different things...plus differences in micro climates, etc.

Blc. Waianae Leopard 'Ching Hua' would have been easier to photograph without the help of my Leopard 'Sophie'. I was moving the plant around in front of the background trying to get a shot of all 4 flowers and she thought I was inviting her to play.

That's so fun!! Hilarious! Lovey dubby (Usually taking an orchid pic is serious work.)
Soooo, it's drizzling here this AM and I am a bit wetter that the orchids having deadheaded for 2.5 hours. I even did some transplanting finally.
I decided to move them to the rest of the cyms and use 2 layers of shade cloth on that end. They have been in good light (quite a bit of west late afternoon direct that spills over the front of the north wall before the shade cloth drops at 3:30) but not real intense sun up till now. It worked so well on the big cyms last year. I just remove lots of burnt leaves in fall and the new growths and spikes come right in. I just was a chicken to do that to my mini cyms. So now that I did it, I hope to bloom these little buggers finally!!!

Boy, that Blc. Waianae Leopard 'Ching Hua' is fantastic. Very nice. Also, thanks for the paph/phrag show. I managed to get my fix.

Mom is back in the hospital, it looks bad.

Peggy Ruth always comes to visit around Christmas time. I last posted her in January. I went out in the lanai yesterday and low and behold, she is here for a surprise mid-summer visit. It's her first summer visit ever.

I have another double bloom coming on the phychopsis. There are three active spikes on this one.

I just moved your set-up pics, Jim! I put them in the Growing Orchids forum under "Where do we grow them 2." Hope you don't mind. That way they won't get buried here on the orchids of the month but will be more available for referencing.
