Ctsm Crown Fox Voodoo is a strange orchid. The blooms hang down like little bells and it's hard to get a good picture.

Jim, you got a beautiful show going on there.
And yes, I really love the scent of Stanhopea wardii blooms too. They smell already the night before they open through just a little "seam" in those buds.
It is also nice to watch them opening, they just pop and start lifting, flipping and folding those cute petals and sepals. It takes ca. an hour or two, (probably depending on temperature) and then the whole spike starts looking like a swarm of pretty insects flying in formation.

Just as well I brought my orchids inside....Hurricane Igor will be hitting us tomorrow with 10" rain and 75-90 mph winds.....I doubt there will be much left standing after that! I hope my potted Japanese Maples don't blow away.

I think it's time we send the blankets, Lindsey.

I'm still waiting for the first overnight low to reach the 60s.

Kathy, I gather you were just a tad busy today..... Oh boy, you moved all of them?? That came awfully quick.

I left all cool growers still outside, we are supposed to go into the forties tonight.

Ya! The cyms are still outside with their blankey. Want them to be cool for a long time. I hired my son to help me! First year he's helped and he's great!

It was 44 degr F on the deck this morning!

I took a close-up of the Pleurothallis allenii 'Eichenfels', which made it's appearance in my moving inside thread. I got this a couple of years ago from Hoosier Orchids. It didn't object at all to the 90 + temperatures this Summer.
