Odcdm. Dorothy Wisnom 'Golden Gate' HCC/AOS opened today. It's amazing to me that all of the buds open at the same time, not one by one.

92 degrees here today and the five day forcast shows more of the same. I've got about another month of this until we see highs in the 80s.

Very nice, Lindsey. All of the other Rodriguezia orchids I have seen have been mounted.

A second bloom is open on Phrag. Robert Palm X Rosalie Dixler...much better than the first (which only lasted 11 days...I hope this one lasts a little longer)

Do the Phrags need similar conditions as Paphs?

Lindsey, at least you got a flower. That poor vanda they sent me still looks like someone beat it with a stick.

I call this dendrobiums on parade. Big Grin

Jim, good looking parade, that's a lot of pretty blooms!

Todd, nice Phrag!

Lindsey, the Rodriguezia spikes are coming along nicely. (Yes, mine is mounted too, I bought it established on a piece of Coconut shell)

My Vandas, actually all my vandaceous plants ( and all Cattleyas) are already inside, since I move all larger and then the sun-loving plants first. This makes it easier for me to tuck in the rest of the Orchids. Night temps are now steadily in the low fifties around here. It just takes too long for me to move everything back inside once temps really drop.

I agree
Todd, when does Paramount stop shipping? I'm very tempted to get a phrag!
Just spent the last 4 hours moving vandas in for the night (41 degrees F), covering the rest with the tarp, watering new beardless iris from Polly and Susan, watering my new mini hostas, watering my annuals, trimming many large yews and piling up the scraps on the burn pile. So tired! This after a day at work. But it was soooo beautiful at dusk-made me happy to be alive.

Maybe this Sunday I can set up the linoleum floors over the carpeting in my office and arrange the shelving and windows for the vandas but then I lose my ventilation (some shelves go in front of the door and are wedged in by vanda shelves) so I'm reluctant to do it yet. Maybe I'll wait a week....
Somehow, I always end up in the dark desperately bringing in gobs of plants with no idea where they will fit!!!

Lindsey, you sure have a lovely bunch of oncidium alliance blooms, great show.

And Ursula, I would have to say ditto for your vandaceous alliance.

Todd, Phrag. Robert Palm X Rosalie Dixler is a beauty, the yellow is so intense.

Fabulous display of dendrobiums Jim.

Beallara Smile Eri, opens white and then lavender shading gradually develops on lip and petal margins, large 4.5 inch wide blooms.

Smile Eri - always beautiful, Ken.
It was 45 degr F on the deck this morning. I am so glad the ( tropical) fish are inside too already!
