Thanks, everyone!
So far I still don't have one for my yard.
I keep losing them to my Sister-In-Law, Daughter, Step Daughter and Daughter-In-Law.
But it makes me smile, so all is good.
One of these days I'm gonna keep one of them.
I may have to chain it to the tractor or something,
I have 4 more that are in progress...…….we'll see.

I'm glad you have more, so you can make one to keep. I'm sure everyone who got one loves them! It's such a great idea. I wish I knew someone who had one lying around.
My husband might have some dull circular saw blades laying around. Would they work to use?
Absolutely!
In fact I've seen lots of art on saw blades. I've even seen wall clocks made from saw blades, that have been hand painted. Very Cool!
When it comes to using "rusty old metal", the key is preparation.
I use an industrial strength rust remover. Then I power wash, thoroughly. Then I sand completely.
After I have any loose rust, dust and dirt removed, I clean with paint thinner.
I use a good primer (2 coats). Then after I have finished with the artwork and that has thoroughly dried, I give it 3 coats of gloss lacquer clear coat to protect the surface.
I am not very fast with these and it's a lot of work. I don't want to lose what I have done, the 1st time it rains.

Moondog, I'm blown away by your exceptional artistic talent!
I know the hours and work involved takes loads of patience! I made a part of a birthday present for DB#2, this year (actually, it's an elaborate card) and the work and patience and underestimating the amount of time you need, can be frustrating, and I missed his birthday by a month but he loves it!
My gosh, thank you. It was definitely a labor of love. He helped me with some graphic design stuff, and I really appreciated it. The key box cost me more than the scale model did

That's Really Cool!
Thanks for your kind comments, just the same

My comments are sincere, my friend. I couldn't do what you do bc my imagination is wired much differently, but that's what makes the world go 'round. I am humbled by your praise.
Here is the latest one. I just delivered this one an hour ago.
It is for my Sister - In - Law & Brother - in - Law, who had to put down their Daschund, 2 weeks ago. She was their "Baby".

I found this old wooden bucket by the garbage can at the getaway cabin we bought 2 years ago. The handle was broken and it had a scruffy bit of dried flowers in it that were unsalvagable. Guess the 84 year old lady that lived here had written it off, too. I tossed it in the trash can and within an hour, fished it back out and brought it home to use as a planter one day. Couldn't get the handle back on to my satisfaction, but the base works, don't you think? I might rub some tung oil into the wood to bring out the color of the wood a bit and also make it more impervious to weather wear. I just planted some Stonecrop Sedum rupestre 'Angelina' in it yesterday and hope it drips over the side eventually.
