We are mature experienced gardeners. My hair color is still the same as the day I was married. Thanks to Clairol... I have no idea how grey I am and I will probably never know. I tip my hat to you.

There are two in this garden....

Those are street pavers. Pavers are much heavier than bricks you'd use to build houses, walls, etc.

I have a number from here as well. I'm in the [process of trying to get enough different ones to make a small patio. That's a long-range project. nodding

Right. I got lazy with the description. 🤷 My career was drawing construction documents, so I am aware of the difference, but I stand corrected none-the-less. I tip my hat to you. My very elderly neighbor was able to snatch up enough to make about a +/- 40 foot pathway. He said that he and his (young) son looked on from his front porch, as the demolition and lowering the street was being done. How excited his boy must have been to see construction workers do their thing along with watching the equipment in full operation! Smiling Lovey dubby

Urban, best of luck building that patio! I'd love to see photos of the progression! Smiling Have a lovely day!!!

I drilled holes in the bottom of some old souvenir beer steins in order to use them as small planters. Haven't planted them though. Next year.

What kind of drill bit did you use?

I used a cheap set of diamond hole saw bits like these (though I don't remember if it was this exact set):

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L9NLPYP/

You'll need a small spray bottle to squirt a stream of water at the drill site so it doesn't overheat and ruin the bit or break the item. Other than that, let the drill do the work (don't bear down hard) and it's easy. I've used them on various types of stoneware, ceramics, etc. and from small to large. Seriously easy. A speedy drill helps.

Oh, and I first tested the drills on some broken pots I already had just to get the feel before using them on something intact.

Thank You!

Urban, great idea, as long as, the beer stein isn't see through (my own personal preference). Smiling

Thinking I just might look for a couple ceramic ones at the flea market or antique store. Smiling Smiling

Oooo, beer steins would make a great Christmas gift with our family's (recipe) cheese ball in them and a sleeve (or two) of crackers!! Hurray! Hurray! (Sorry it's off topic, but I got all excited!! Whistling Rolling on the floor laughing ) I did that with Christmas mugs one year. It was a hit! Big Grin
