What a happy Angraecum plant! My luck with Angraecums is really bad. They grow, then rot. My sesquipedale is back to tiny. But alive! Just lost my veitchii which looked great this summer. Sad

Kathy that Schom is spectacular, as is your Angraecum Ursula!

Not a flake of snow here...the backyard this morning...too bizarre for Newfoundland!

That's about what my backyard looks like, Todd, only it is suppose to be green and full of flowers.

Todd, what a nice looking green yard!

Jim, this Angraecum doesn't need full sun to do well,( just a daily root soak) maybe you find a corner in the house....? Whistling

Kathy, I went to the cinema at 12:15 pm, went back home because only the ( miserable) front row had a couple of seats left. ( People hold seats for their friends by placing jackets on it, which they are not supposed to do, but they do it anyway.) Just as well, listening to it I don't like it.

Bree, yes that sure does look like a schom but I can't find a pic quite like it. I wonder if it's a hybrid. Hang on Rene. It has to warm up eventually!

Ursula:
A late reply to your question on how we deal with Mealy at Kew. We use bio control whenever possible: Nemasys/Mycotal, Cryptolaemus, Savona, or the systemic insecticide Calypso. Our weapon of mass destruction is our volunteers! ladies of a certain age armed with a small paintbrush and a bottle of neat ethenol: terrifying! we would be lost without them.

Richard,
thanks so much, that is great information. Continuous vigilance is your first level of defense and you roll out the artillery according to the severity of the problem, trying to stay environmentally friendly. I had to google the Biocontrols, interesting stuff.
I am just picturing the swarm of nice ladies descending on those Mealies.... Smiling

The Cattleya deckeri is a beauty! Lovey dubby

Lots of my orchids have scent today. India Rose has a rose scent, Eplc. Butterfly Kisses 'Mendenhall' has a scent like an orange, Vandofinetia blaupunkt has a jasmine scent, Cym Valentine's Love 'Spring Scent' has the same scent as my Golden Elf, sweet and citrusy, Slc. Fire magic 'Nora' has a sweet catt scent. Then there's Den rigidum, kinda like a strong hoya or hyacinth.

I have so few fragrant orchids...paphs and phrags are not known for their smells, nor are most oncidium and odonts. My saving grace was Brassavola nodosa and even that whimped out on me Sad

Ursula, your Angraecum sesquipedale is truly a showpiece.

Great display Kathy, Eplc. Butterfly Kisses 'Mendenhall' appears to be a beautiful golden color and not the lovely intense orange of your new Encyclia vitellina. My vitellina is blooming now.

Odontioda Phoenix March. I got the proper results from my camera on this shot as well as the next one as well. Funny how some things seem to work better when they are going to be replaced.

Paph Hampshire Zoo. One of the few paphs I can get to bloom. This is a large bloom, the dorsal sepal is just under 4 inches across.

Ken, the pic of Odontioda Phoenix March is perfect. Are you replacing the camera? I hope not the plant!! Hampshire Zoo is a big boy!
Unfortunately, Butterfly Kisses is not golden but almost the color of Enc. vitellina. I guess I should try some more. Speaking of vitellina, how do you grow it? I got mine in bud and the buds blasted in too much light so I thought I'd try it in the cool room as OrchidWiz called it cool-intermediate.
