I'm having another day when this web page isn't loading. I can't see any of Jan's pictures. Ugh Not sure if I can even post this comment, we'll see.

And I got your Tree Mail Tom. So you are doing something right!

Mary Ann, thanks for the comment about Quaker Lady. it's the only true historic that I own. The other one I have is my Dad's iris - which was never registered and won't bloom this year. I hope to register it in the future once I get some good stats on it. It is significant only to family members.

I do hope to acquire some more historics in the future - it is fun to see the differences, and very obvious from this gentle historic to the amazing ones of today ~Jan

Liquid Crystal Compass is an IB with horns here. It got caught in our strange spring & bloomed a bit short. However the horns & the nice color were there.

I should have some of each to share. We've had very strong winds today, beating the hack out of things here. Lost a stalk of New Face, that had a seed pod going from a cross I made. You must have heard me swearing in Calif! I quickly put up some supports on the rest of them. Pamper Me is one I had imported from Australia a couple years ago. It's falls are white on the under side.

Barry Blyth puts a stem carrying a seed pod in the dirt. You might try it.

I actually spent some time at Tom's this afternoon - his Iris are as beautiful in person as the photos he posts - and thanks for the clump of Immortality, I am headed out to plant it now. It was great meeting you Tom ~Jan

Jan, Glad you enjoyed the blooms, windy as it was here. The cookies are great! Thanks.

Lucy, I put it in water, but haven't had any luck in the past with that. I wonder how it stays alive in the dirt? Must have to keep it wet. Planting soil in a pot? Not sure how I'd do that, but would try it if I knew how.

Barry puts it in the soil right next to the plant. People have also stuck stems in a potato to keep it viable.

HMMMMMM That sounds interesting, but what do I have to loose. I'll try putting it in the ground.

Mary Ann I think I can spare a Gitano Rhizome, let me know when you want it. One more or less at this stage of the game is hardly noticable. That's what happens when you get over 20 horses too!

Tom -- stop the presses please! *Gitano* was nagging me in the back corner of my brain. This morning I went out to check my holding beds (where I plant new arrivals until they bloom to see if they merit going into my Iris Lane bed) -- and there, big as life, was a nice plant of *Gitano*. I got it last year, it didn't bloom this year, so I forgot that I had it. So thank you for your offer -- please send that rhizome to someone who doesn't have one.

At least I proved to myself that my taste in Irises is consistent!! nodding
