Tall bearded Iris are a wonderful flower. They give me an entire bloom season before my daylilies start in summer.
My daffs are near done. The last ones blooming are these COPPER QUEEN way in the backyard in front of the Serviceberry shrubs. Still, they are not done yet. So as I had daffs start blooming February 9th that means I will have three months of daffodil blooms. Absolutely fabulous year for daffs here this year.
I'm not into irises but I do have a couple iris riticulata and 2 siberian iris that Wanda in Iowa sent me many years ago. Wanda was a regular on DG but haven't seen her on in quite some time.
Well, they are different ones. I had ones very early and then at various times but I have had daffodils blooming for three months. Some kind of record breaker for me. These Merlin and the COPPER QUEEEN in the backyard are the last.
Love that poppy. Called Queen Elizabeth if you want to order more that color. I lost mine over the past few years. Saw the white foliage though so I hope I still have that one.
Love the clematis too. Planted probably half dozen over the years. Don't have one now. I think I or helpers pull the vines thinking they were part of the bad ones. They were all planted to go up a young tree or lilacs.
bb- I ordered more of the FRUIT PUNCH poppy plants than I already had already from Graceful Gardens. These ones blooming are from half a tray of plants I put in last spring. Then I already ordered and planted a compleate tray this spring. But when the first of those poppies bloomed I got so crazy excited over how lovely they are that I went and ordered three more trays. Those will be coming mid May. So next year there will be tons of poppies blooming here. The trays are mixed colors and I do like the idea of the mixed colors. A little of everything!
Walk along the southside rose garden with me. Of course the roses are not blooming yet but the shrubs in the mixed shrub border across are in full bloom.
