You have a lot of orchids in bloom, Patty. The Mayumi was one of my most prolific growers and bloomers. I had a reliable source for divisions a few years ago, but that source was ended two years ago. Too bad. Sad

2 of those bloomers are yours, Ken! I'll give you first crack at the Mayumi when it's time to sell if you want. How's your back? When's your surgery?

Thanks Ursula...I like my orchids being part of my 'garden', they're all around my house outside, and I don't have a greenhouse or pool cage anyway! Hilarious!

Gorgeous Patty!
You have such a colorful yard and it's fun to walk around and find surprises waiting for you!
One of my bare root special from Plantio is blooming for the first time.
It looks like there's still a few thrips wandering around ( must be time to spray again Whistling )

Love that purple lip, too. A real beauty. Yes, the thrips love this hot, dry weather so maybe the looming cold front will slow them down a bunch.

Patty, your pink Vanda might be V. Jairak 'Heartthrob' if it's the one I gave you half of.

A surprise for me today - huge bloom on Rhyn. digbyana that I never saw coming, plus two more fat buds!

Thank you, Ursula. I'll take walking upright and wearing this back brace only when I am working outside. I hope to be able to attend our (MSU) football bowl, so I'll need to be able to navigate stairs too.

I don't know if it's the weather. or me giving 1/4 strength food weekly, but Cattlianthe 'Synda Nelson' has one new spike in bloom. The fourth time this year...so far.

So far! The crazies come out of the woodwork when we get these weather conditions, but this latest wind event is almost over. I feel sooo bad for all the folks that have lost their properties and families. No amount of insurance will ever make it right. Of course the forests have always burned in history, but they weren't populated then, and it was natural events that caused it rather than human events. Hopefully, this will force the powers that be to tighten up building codes. In my dreams. Sighing!
