Oh that is too bad!
But heck, if I run into him at another event I'll get some seedlings on a flyer. If I know in advance I'll be in touch.

Very nice digbyana, Elaine!

Ursula, I love the Vanda you posted. I'll add it to my want list.

Bill, if you go to Allen's web site, he has some really nice Brassavola hybrids. I wish he would speak somewhere close so we could see what he has for sale.

From the OC:
Dimerandra stenopetala. I got this in a trade with Lindsey and I love it.

I heard his presentation today Jim. I was very good but as I told Lindsey, his available plants were pretty small and were $15 each. I might not have purchased two but I always feel the need to support a speaker!
He claims he used half decomposed bark that he regrets now. He said that he lost a load of seedlings and set himself back four years. He will need another good 12-18 months to catch up from what I saw.
But if you two like this sort of thing, as do I, I'll keep you both in mind,

Jim, very nice! I love the Bc Clear Stars and the Catasetum is awesome!
Regarding the nodosa noid - I am more reminded of Rhyncholaelia glauca?

Btw my Brassokeria Mayan Spirit is one of Allen Black's hybrids.

Has there been any word yet on Ken? I hope that all is really good now for him. I pray he recovers quickly and is pain free for years to come.
Just the word surgery is scary enough but with the back it just compounds everything I fear.
Please somebody post something if they hear anything.
Meanwhile Ken, if you are in recovery mode buddy, we are all praying πŸ™ for you!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery. All the best, Bill β€οΈπŸ’œπŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ§‘πŸ’™

Yesterday I left a message for Ken on fb, he didn't respond yet. He might be still flat on his back. Hopefully he will improve quickly.

Yes, let's hope we hear from Ken soon, but he may not be able to sit at his computer. (he needs a tablet!)

maybe they are both out shopping for that zero turn lawn mower he had his heart set on? Retail Therapy....always works for me!
My Eplc. Volcano Trick 'Paradise' has opened up today.

I think this was one of the first plants I bought after returning to Tampa..
The SunBulb Orchid guy came and spoke at our club.
It's very similar but much darker than Ett. Stephanie Takasaki that's also blooming right now

Lindsey, I have seen numerous Volcano Tricks but not one measured up to yours in terms of dark red overlaying the golden orange base color. That is so much red it is hard to see any orange on the front side.
That Stephanie Takasaki is beautiful in its own right. They are such similar hybrids.

If you love super deliciously fragrant blooms, you have to have a Tuberolabium quisumbingii!! I knew it was getting ready to bloom, but I had forgotten how much they "put out"!! The sun came out and a little while later the whole house smelled like it. First there was a top note of Anise, which changed to some super fragrant soap of sorts. Hard to describe, you just have to get one! Yum and double yum!

Ursula. I didn't know you had a Tuberolabium quisumbingii!!
That is still my favorite little miniature. Woot woot. Gosh, I have not seen one in close to twenty years!
I sent mine to "Orchid Heaven" back then and I need to find another. That fragrance is so cool. Wow, thanks a lot for that great stroll down memory lane! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Thank You! Rolling on the floor laughing

Bill, I have to check my notes, I think I bought it last Winter from Andy's Orchids. I did kill a couple through the years, but I always loved this one. Looks like a picked up a good plant on a mount, it made it nicely through the Summer outside. Did I mention that I love the scent? Smiling

Yes, I bought it in Jan 2018 at the North Jersey Orchid society show!

You described the fragrance well, anise. Once you sniff it, you won't forget it.
The next time I see Kristen at New World Orchids, I'll see if she has it.
She specializes in miniatures.
