There will indeed be all the sorting options you could want. So categorizing by genus is, I think, a bit redundant and un-necessary.

While categorizing by genus may seem redundant, I'd like to be able to click on my category "Daylilies" and see ONLY daylilies, instead of having to scroll through non-daylilies. Hilarious! And right now to do that, I have to individually edit each DL in my list to categorize it, because I have 48 DLs that were added before it occurred to me to create a category.

It would be *really* nice to have a checkbox in front of each row in the "Manage my lists" page that would let me tag all or several plants at one time to categorize them. While right now, I'm just calling them DLs, I might at a future date categorize nocturnals, earlies, Mids, peach-colors, etc, and again it would be really nice to be able to tag a bunch of plants that were listed before the category existed.

Is that anywhere in your grand scheme of things? I don't think it would over-complicate it for non-power-users, and might even be appreciated by them. (and if it's already there, I apologize, but I'm not seeing it)

Thanks!

I made some updates to the Plant Lists feature today and the system will now automatically categorize your plants for you by genus.

So now when you go to view your plant list (From the external side) you can choose to only view the Roses, for example. Take a look and see what you think. Smiling

Hey Dave, one more minor thing.... I'm not figuring out how to DELETE a category. I deleted plants from the category, and then selected "delete category" and told it 'yes, I really want to delete it,' but it never went away. Also, my profile says there are still 2 plants in the daylily category, but when I look at that category in my list, there are no plants listed.

Thanks!
(I'm not the only one having problems deleting categories)

I have one empty category that still shows that there is a plant in it.
