DeweyRooter, I'm so weedy too.
I hope we have some warmer zones on here cause I see new scapes everyday. I think the count is close to 65 named daylilies at this point. On some plants I'm going on and cutting the scape to save energy. Does anyone know if that makes a difference for the next year blooms? I've cut 6 scapes on my big clump of Exotic Starfish and let 6 bloom. Problem is here in Eastern NC we can get a bad cold snap anytime starting in Oct but last year I was cutting scapes in Dec it was so warm but then heavy rain and into the teens in 24/36 hours.
I'm still processing as I shoot in raw format. But here's some to start.
I have about 2 minutes of perfect light sometimes. In this case, as the sun comes over the house, that shades that bed, it hit, highlighting the near white daylily while everything behind it was still in shade. This is not extreme processing, it's just luck.
This one was a minute before but I'm shooting towards the field, which already has the sun. I hate I left the spent cane in there. I thought I had gotten them all. I don't like the pull them till they let go easy cause I'm afraid of an open scar especially in fall when the dreaded crown rot lurks.
Another Subhana intro in the backlight
I'm a test garden for Subhana and this is a seedling I'm really liking. Face is consistent for me for first blooms starting 5/20 to late rebloom starting 2 days ago. Subhana says it's darker for me but that is usual, I tend to have darker daylilies than the norm. Good branching, at least 36 inches tall. I hope she intros it.
Another Subhana intro, maybe '22 or '23.
I had to edit in sept opening of Seas of Neptune!! It has to be in my first post of the month. More rebloom scapes are coming up, I'll prolly cut them.
