Worked too much in the front garden yesterday and today I can't stop groaning. I just took a second pain pill. I did go out and do some more work. I'm doing a major and, I hope, permanent overhaul which involves lots of digging and moving pretty much everything except really big trees. One section at the front is done and planted with flowers which are hanging in so far. This part of the garden used to be part of the road so the soil is pretty worthless except for Bermuda grass. I am starting from scratch, removing any real soil, then laying down plastic, then weed blocking fabric. Open tires filled with amended soil are used for plants and we are doing a concrete path - someday.

Was diagnosed with gallstones which are causing some blockage and pain. Will be headed to Ca. and Kaiser in my new-to-me car sometime this week. Hard to plan when in pain. And when not in pain I just want to garden!!

Grumpy over a torn up house but also very thankful to still have a house after the hurricane. My son has come aboard to help but omg I feel like I have been run over by a mack truck. He has no phone right now so he uses mine like it was his. Grrr just got the thing and trying to figure it out since it's my first smart phone. I have no clue what he has done or put on it. Had to turn it off today to get back my home screen. Oh well he should have his own again after Friday unless I strangle him first. Lol silver lining...at least something is getting done around here

Trying to get ready to leave for Ca. Insurance company is frustrating. Keep breathing, I tell myself. I'm overpacked as I don't know how long I'll be there. Probably need two minor surgeries and when I come home will depend on scheduling.

Keep breathing. New car for me. Seems very good but time will tell.

Katie, if they can get you in right away, those 2 small surgeries will be quick and easy. You should be able to get back home quite soon. Good luck with it.

Not really grumpy but I am now totally used to and enjoy to a great degree winter, now that the real deal has hit BUT I also do like the warmer sun as right now it is cold enough the snow is not melting so it is not sloppy wet all over , just warm sun with beautiful white snow.

March is the one month of the year that I have a bad attitude towards because soon it will get wet , sloppy, humid days that feel like you are taking a cold shower, ESPECIALLY on the days above 32 when the sun does not shine.

As much as last year screwed things up with most days being abnormal, it was nice because things changed quickly so we avoided the cold shower days of March.
Rather a bit of damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Boy you nailed that description RpR. This one:
"humid days that feel like you are taking a cold shower, ESPECIALLY on the days above 32 when the sun does not shine."
That sure is an awful feeling. That didn't happen where I grew up & lived most of my life but up here it does happen & I could never adequately describe the feeling even in my own mind. Now I will know how to describe it. Thankfully, we don't get many days like that here! I feel for those who do.

Not my grump but my cousin just called.
We had removed ice from his mom's house and it still ripped off the gutter and fascia.
Be careful what you say; he said I don't have that trouble with my house.
He called to tell me it ripped off his North gutter and fascia plus may have screwed up his air-conditioner. Group hug Hilarious! Glare

Grumpy, lots of pain recently. Had an accident a while back which left me with five fractures...four rib fractures and one L1 fracture to my back. I spent quite a bit of time at a hospital and now I'm at a Warm Springs rehab place. I feel like I can't do much for myself, much less anyone else! And here it is spring and they won't even let me outside!

I may not have much time here. I'm told the average stay here is 12 to 14 day...much shorter stays than years ago, because of all the changes in government-based insurance and most other kinds of insurance. The pressure to avoid or shorten hospital stays is very intense. With many nonprofit hospitals being taken over by for-profit corporations, that makes things worse in many ways. I seem to remember some doctor at the other hospital said recovery from the fractures could be six weeks, although my memories from that place cannot entirely be relied on. They give me various kinds of pain relief...sometimes not strong enough, but I expected that.

Well there's no changing what they will do so just try to make the most of it while you're there. I still feel so badly for you. I know you had to have been in terrible pain - probably still are. Just know that we are all with you in spirit & pulling for you.
Is someone helping your hubby? I think he relied on you a great deal?

I'm grumpy because I've lost the use of my dominant (right) hand. It is swollen and hot, and hurts like heck, and a trip to the urgent care decided it is gout. Sad I have medication that better fix me up fast. I can't believe how hard it is to do everything with only my left hand! It takes so long to do simple things.

It is! I have a hard time combing my hair, dressing, caring for the greenhouse plants, doing dishes, etc. I never realized how much we need both hands! I can only type for a little while. Sighing!
