My little rant today is that my bank merged with another bank. Again. I am getting sick of having a bank for several years & then it merges & everything changes. I liked my bank the way it was. They paid interest on our checking account! It actually wasn't a bad rate either and the account had no maintenance fee if you kept X amount in it & X wasn't a large amount either.

We have a couple small town banks that are locally owned. We definitely get good service. Thumbs up

This was one of those & it's merging with another local small town bank south of our area but all the rules have changed. Sigh.

Today I killed a banded snake and got a deep glass cut on the ball of my left thumb. Pain is back and tomorrow we go to Santa Rosalia so I can see a real doctor and, if necessary, have a urine culture done (I think). Tired, grumpy, in some pain glad I'm above ground. katie

Glad to hear you are ok, gall bladder stones can cause some scary symptoms.

Not so grumpy any more but was rather annoyed for approx. a week.

I was doing something stupid in the throne room, when my feet gave way, I was stretched out and bent over, and found out the toilet was closer to my ribs than my hand was to the ground.
Hit is hard, and it hurt, not the kind that goes away, it hurt to a degree continually.

I did my checks to see if maybe I broke a rib , I have hard bones , but I could inhale, sneeze, cough with little problem.
I was stiff and standing up was a either slow and annoying , or quick with brief greater pain.
I slept on a heating pad while lying on my left side so it was on the pad; well that was neither here nor there for being uncomfortable but lying on my right side was pain free but rolling over and pulling my self up in bed was probably more a matter of being anxious it would hurt than it actually hurt.
I was glad it was a decorative iron headboard as I could grab it to pull my self around , although the pain was not severe and I was probably just being chicken sh-- worried.

Next day , it was a lot better; the third day it hurt worse than the first day.
I learned consuming great quantities of over the counter painkillers before going to bed either did wonders, or I though they did.
I got better but sitting up and moving around in bed was fairly constant till two days ago, when for some reason that night I could not find a way that it did not hurt for about an hour when I went to bed.
I blamed it on lying on the floor while watching TV as that did not hurt at all but when I sat up I was back to day three in discomfort and as I said, getting to sleep became get more pain killers.
THEN ---- drum roll ----
Yesterday it was either normal or better than normal, i.e. some times when I stood up it was better but still there, then later in the day it dawned on me that by evening I bent over, stood up and other things and I had forgotten I had it.
Today it is 90 percent gone, and when I got up this morning no debating quickly with a grimace or slowing, being a sissy, I sat up and got up.
One thing that mystified me is a couple of days, after shoveling snow, now THAT was uncomfortable, when I was done I had back pain, not bone related kind but sore muscle kind.
It was just there once in a while and came and went on its own accord.

Well stupidity has just rewards and this past week I won the gold medal. I tip my hat to you.

Well very glad to hear you are firmly on the mend RpR!!! That was a scary bit of business. Did you not think of ice packs & heating pads? They can work wonders for these situations.

Heating pad yes Thumbs up , but ice packs have never been high on my list of , go to's. I tip my hat to you.

One problem , or annoyance was, and has been before this, I will wake up at night be too warm and cannot find a comfortable position.
A heating pad made it worse; usually if I get up an pop some pain killers, I will fall asleep quicker than if I just wait it out.
I some times think that happens when pain killers I took at bedtime wore off but I have never paid attention whether , when it happens , if I took pain killers or not that night BUT, IF it happens at the same time, or on a night when Sammy has decided I make good heating pad , unless I get up and move him over sleeping isn't going to happen.
That happened one night when my ribs were really annoying and he fully intended to lay on top of my legs, even when I tried using him as a soccer ball.
That cat has no bones and no nerve endings. He can droop over one leg like a noodle.
So got up, moved him up by my ribs, not sure he even woke up, and took three Tylenol or a generic version of said same.
I slept like a baby.

I put the snow tires on my car, and my sore chest is baaaaaack. Blinking

Putting the tires on did was not that bad but when I carried the seventy pound jack and and the tires to put them away, THEN it pounced.
I am sure it will deflate, the pain, not the tires, fairly quickly but just sitting here writing this I can feel it.
Time for a aspirin-acetaminophen cocktail tonight. Thumbs up I tip my hat to you.

I agree!! For it to still be hurting after all this time there is probably something serious going on. But then again maybe not. Doc can tell you for sure and better safe than sorry when it goes on for this long.

I'm grumpy because my speaker that I bought for my phone appears to have bit the dust. I still had over half a charge left today when it started acting up so I figured I must have drained the battery pretty quickly. Been trying to charge it to no avail. Grumbling I just bought it a few months ago too.

I appreciate the concern.
IF, IF it does not get appreciably better when I finally get home next week, I will give the Doc. a visit.
As I write this now, it is still more noticeable than it was yesterday, but much, much better than when I wrote the last note.

Schmucking my ribs seems to have really brought to my thought process every thing that annoys or disappoints me. Grumbling

I was reading about some one concerned about corn bleed over in another thread and it brought to mind the fact that sweet corn seems to be one the things I will never enjoy as I did for decades, French Fries being the other, as cooked it tastes blah to me now.
The two things I plant because they were two of my favorite foods for as long as I can remember are now an exercise in frustration.

If I eat the sweet corn right out of the field, Hurray! that , at least last time I tried it still tastes good Hurray! so there is one bright spot.
I buy foo-foo butter, or did before it went from 5 bucks a pound to eight or more, because it is foo-foo butter and some of it tastes better but I seem to have found that unless I eat it straight, and I mean straight off of the block, butter taste is now lost to me but that does not really surprise me as the wonderful taste that makes shakes and malts appealing was the first thing I noticed years ago that was going away.
I.e. two spoonfuls from the cup and it became cold and sweet, not much more.
The only one that still had the desired effect, at least last time I had one before they left town is White Castle Chocolate Shakes and they had the absolute taste that separates a good one from a mediocre one.

Well there, my pee and moan for the day, or at least for the moment is satisfied, time to go take some pain killers although I wish I had some Lemons in this house as I have bottle of foo-foo Tequila in the store room that keeps calling my name. I tip my hat to you.
