They are sweet little iris blooms! It is a slow start, Elsa, but the little stalks forming are a promise of things to come. Hurray!

Nice start to the season, Bonnie! Looks like the little Drambuie you sent last year made it through the winter here. Hope I get to see it this spring.

It is supposed to rain here tonight and tomorrow a bit. If it doesn't I will put the hoses out Monday. It will cool down and a bit of frost is expected then the warm-up next week will help more blooms to open. I expect Gold Reward to be the next one.

I can't feed the fire ants until the next sunny day. They don't forage on an overcast day when rain is expected.

This is a really lovely little iris. It is heavily overcast here and the iris does not glow like it does in the sunshine. It has more bloom stalks and I will get a photo later of a sun bloom. This one does well in spite of the fire ants loving the tub they are living in. I have not cleaned it up as well as I should have due to the ants.

Another beautiful little iris opened today.....

This was open before the sun came up and I took photos without much light. Smiling I will get a photo later in natural light after the heavy cloud cover leaves.

This is a reliable little iris. It grows and multiplies well and so far I have had a bloom every spring from it. I know when Debra posts a photo of Sparks Fly in bloom I will have one the next week. Thumbs up Smiling

I love this iris. Smiling

Good to hear from ya, Will. Is that Blue Magic in the fore-front?

Bonnie, I don't know how you've done it, but you have made me want a loooot of SDBs. I never have had anything smaller than a TB bloom (that will change soon!) and so when I joined this site, I certainly was impartial to only really wanting TBs because I did not know what the smaller irises were like. That has changed. I tip my hat to you. Hurray!

I have only three (SDBs), but I might be more excited to see them bloom than I thought. Rolling my eyes.

I'm not sure Monty, I got those particular ones as part of a mixed batch. I like knowing the variety of plants I grow but not as much as I love a bargain and I got those pretty cheap.

This little iris is more gold than my camera shows. It is tall for an SDB, perhaps 14 inches, and it really shows up well at the back of the iris bed. I have only had this one two years but so far it has bloomed each year. Thumbs up Smiling

Tonight it is supposed to dip into the upper 20's so The blooms will slow doen for a day or two.
