JW - your Mort Morse looks much better than mine- more saturated color, etc. Of course, mine is new this spring.

And my Little Surfer Girl should rebloom! I just saw a scape today. It's another newbie, and I KNOW we should cut those scapes, but I find it almost impossible to.

This is a 1 yr seedling I had bloom today, FFO. It also happens to be my sister's birthday - so in honor of her, the garden name is Patty's Gift. Not sure if it will ever be registered, but I will give some to my sister when it clumps up better. It is from seeds bought on the LA: Little Jasper Spider X Cascading Blue. It is 37 " tall and a 7.5 inch flower. I also think it is a Unusual Form Spatulate????? Also not sure what color it truly is - purple red?? And look - no thrips! (yet)

Indian Ripple (again) because it is such a gorgeous flower. I think this time the camera actually captured the true color instead of making it redder than it appears to me.



Velvet Onyx and Calypso Dancer. Some of these have had a small bit of thrips damage. VO has been blooming like crazy.

Jan this is the third year for Mort Morss in my garden. I ordered it from Maryott's so it didn't bloom for me the first year. It was really nice last year.

Every MORT MORSS bloom I have seems to look different to me than the one before, and I purchased a second plant last year just to make sure I had the right one. I think it's the heating and cooling when the buds are forming that does it, and most blooms always look much more pastel here than the gorgeous ones I see from the rest of you where it's more humid. I like 'em all tho! But unfortunately both MORTS are sulking this year -- maybe next time, if I remember the fertilizer...

Jan, that's so funny that your dog Molly doesn't like to have her picture taken! I'm like that, too! My late doggie Charlie used to get really rowdy whenever I pointed a camera at him, so he looked like a Kujo dog! He got out of that when he got older, though. I haven't had time to take pics this week until today, here they are:

Thanks Betty. It was 2 fans 2 years ago when I first got it. That's really fast increase for me. I don't make time to feed or water my gardens very often, because I have too many of them and I'm busy trying to keep up with the weeds! I guess I test the true hardiness of the daylily plant, and everything else, for that matter!

Good idea, Jan. I have many photos of my Russell who died last August. The middle one is greying and aging and starting to have behavior changes, so I am also looking to get more photos of him now.
