Wonderful seedling everyone. Fred, nothing beats good old fashion Whistling okay, amended soil.

Here's another bloom and look at that seedling I shared the other day.

Spacecoast Peach Fringe x Premier Surprise

Also, this beauty bloomed again. I have a name registered after my dearest departed Mother-in-law but I'm still observing it for stats. So far, it is Evergreen with sturdy fans. It is 100% double with a fragrant 5" bloom on a 20" scape.

Prairie Wildfire x Cluster Muster

Stan, the red one is a wowser shade of red. Stunning.

Fred, I love the HB26-17 purple seedling. I'm adding that one to my watch list.

I have been saying for years that my flowers change color
depending on the soil type. Some of my beds are mainly clay soil
while others are mostly loam.

Pinks and pastels are more clean and pure colored in the clay, while
those in the loam take on a more yellowed hue. Just guessing, but
I think the loamy soil has more magnesium in it than the clay.

I was telling Kathleen last night what a difference it made in the color and brightness when I moved everything out of the pine bark filled boxes and planted everything in the ground. All the plants are so much larger and there is a noticeable difference in the colors. Same camera same settings.

I finally marked two seedlings that I think I want to keep a closer eye on. One I have watched from way back it was such a standout as far as foliage and size. It ended up also having a thick strong scape, and a beautiful bloom. It shows very good resistance to rust(meaning here that it shows almost no rust). This is the one that had the "veins" or "grooves" in the wide thick leaves.
The other one just bloomed today, and after a series of hard showers and strong winds (power out for three hours) the thin scape was still standing tall and straight and holding up the bloom, that seemed like it had a rain coat on. Besides, I loved the color! It is a small plant, only one scape so far, and not a lot of buds yet. It is early, and I will keep an eye on it. It may take a few years for it to get established, so far almost no rust. Even very little leaf miner (don't know if that is even something plants are resistant too, any comments on that), and so far no noticeable leaf streak. Something to watch with interest anyhow!
Carlotta x Happy and Blessed, Dip,: This is the plant that bloomed today. Lucky the marker was still in place. I cut a pvc pipe and pushed into the ground and then put the marker in it to make it more visible. Hope to be able to do that to all the ones I select to watch. Looked much better in person than in this photo.

Here is the huge one, the largest plant in the seedling bed: I really liked how these two held up after the series of showers over the past few days.

Even in this photo (it was starting to rain again) you can see it is taller and a darker green than all the plants around it.

I have one more sibling to add to those other three of the cross PORT ORANGE x LILLIAN'S STUFF AND SUCH:
Thumb of 2019-05-13/Betja/4cb1c0 - Don't know about this one, but I do love yellows

Also a better bloom of the first seedling that I posted from that cross:
Thumb of 2019-05-13/Betja/a5c057 - Still not sure if I'll even keep it

And then two older tet seedlings of mine that I'm still using in crosses:
AMERICAN FLYER x FANTASTIC FRINGE
Thumb of 2019-05-13/Betja/184394
Doesn't remotely resemble either parent...

FLAMES OF BEAUTY x DR CELIA STUMP
Thumb of 2019-05-13/Betja/7927b8
This one is very bright and usually is toothy, so I went ahead and put BITES LIKE A THOUSAND TEETH pollen on it.

I love the bloom on this seedling, but look how weird the growth is out of the top of the scape, such long stems on the blooms.

Larry, I've had two plants do that this year. They are not new
either. Might be a problem unfurling due to temp variations
and lots of rain is my speculation.

mistyfog,
Interesting, I was thinking maybe some type of rare trauma to the tip of the scape. Not very likely if you have had two plants do that also this year.

@Legalily,
I just went out and took photos of the seedlings blooming in my beds now. None of them are state of the art new standouts, just common everyday backyard seedlings. If nothing else they certainly brighten up the yard.

The only goals I had in mind back when I pollinated and created these were to have taller scapes and larger blooms, I did have some pretty good successes with that. But then it always seems no matter what you cross you always end up with at last one of these somewhere in the mix. A short yellow with a small bloom.
