I came home last Monday after a day spent with my MIL to find my first seedling bloom ever from a cross that I did myself. This was from the summer of 2017. I've been waiting that long. The cross is Lavender Curls x Shelby.
There was no scape, just a skinny stem with a small bloom on it, almost sitting on the soil. I picked it, put it in a cup with water, and went to get my phone to take a picture. That was when I saw that there was a snake in my wall register. I get snakes in my house all the time, but I thought I had all the holes filled with that expanding stuff.
Every time I walked past that bloom, trying to deal with the snake, I thought, "I'll get a pic of you in the morning." That's how rattled I was! The next morning, I looked at that shriveled little mess! Oh, that's right, it's a DAYlily!
