No exercising today. It is wicked hot and humid. No exercise walking the dog, no gardening.

That's smart, Rita. I exercised a little in the house- 20 minutes on my portable "exercise bike" and I did a 20 minute stretching video on youtube. Beats a blank.

Finally, cooler weather! I was able to get out and work in the yard for about an hour before I got rained out. I had to go to the University Hospital this afternoon for a medical test. The traffic was awful! I was held up by two wrecks on the interstate on the way home. So infuriating! It felt like a waste of the whole afternoon.

Exercise today was picking veggies as I stayed out of the sun on Saturday and Sunday and didn't pick.

So between that and a mile dog walk it was enough for me.

Is it still ungodly hot there, Rita? We got a welcome relief today with clouds, rain, and cooler temps.

No, it is back to the normal sticky humid summer days here. But not like the last three days. Weather on TV was warning everyone about the heat and humidity the past three days.

I like summer. Hate winter. The cold bothers me much more that the heat. Unless it is really aweful like this past weekend.

It was on the too hot for me kind of day, 83 F, still had to go water the beds and pots, no weed pulling. Too tired anyway, got little sleep last night. Sighing!

Still half congested and still producing bloody mucus. Very tired, discouraged. I see the sinus doctor for a regularly scheduled appointment today.

I hope you got some encouragement at your appointment today.

I scheduled an awful week for myself- doctor appointments, medical tests... I should have had my head examined too. And on top of that, I got little sleep last night and that's making me pretty miserable. I also got my second Shingrix shot today. Among my other tests, I'm having a 24 hour urine test. So for 24 hours I have to save all my pee in a giant jug, and refrigerate it. Glare Tomorrow, my only duty is to deliver the jug to the lab.

I did manage to squeeze in a half hour walk on the treadmill this morning. Can't wait 'till it's time to sleep tonight.

Kelli, I hope the doctor had some good news for you today. Crossing Fingers!

Karen, that's a lot of tests and doctor visits, I hope they are all routine. Thinking Crossing Fingers!

DH had prostate surgery this morning, TURP method, we had to get up at 4: am to be there at 6: am. Everything went well but they are keeping him overnight for flushing, he will be discharged early tomorrow morning, so I will be up very early once again. I was so tired I actually slept for an hour this afternoon.

I got the impression from the doctor that I might be healing a little slower than average because I had so much inflammation for so long before the surgery. He didn't out and out say that, but I was left with that impression. I had some scabbing, which can happen if you had a lot of inflammation and he suctioned that out. It was unpleasant, but I can breathe a little better now. There is some chance that I will need additional surgery and I knew that from the beginning. I won't know until I totally heal. When I breathe, the nose right above the flares of the nostrils sucks in and that is not optimal. That may go away after I heal and it may require additional surgery. I am not quite as tired today as I was earlier in the week.

We have to go down to Anaheim today (two hours one way) and pick out granite for our new vanity tops. They said that there is a great variability in what they have and they want us to pick out the slabs we want (I want). I need to see what they have because if DH were to pick it out himself, you can guarantee I would be disappointed. I have a vague idea in my mind what it should look like and maybe none of it really looks like that so I need to see what it really looks like. It's white with black veins. The old vanity tops are old, beat up, stained, and borderline tacky. They were like that when we moved here 22 years ago. We have not done much to upgrade this house beyond basic maintenance. We put in new windows when we first moved in, and we put in a new driveway about ten years ago.

My exercise yesterday was Fertilizing all the pepper plants with liquid fertilizer. After that I went around and weeded and filled way up a large plastic bag which I then put out for the yard waste pickup. Been trying to really keep up with the weeding this year as last year it was a total disaster.

Karen, Dh is home, he is doing well, and I can see what you mean, he is not supposed to do any lifting for 3 weeks! Blinking I am already exhausted thinking about it. Rolling on the floor laughing I was up at 3:38 this morning, couldn't sleep so just got up and got ready to go pick him up at the hospital..
