Sometimes I give advice but think later that maby I should not have not done that, I just hate for someone to make the same mistakes I made in the pass, glad you changed you mind Michele. Love that last seedling.

Never baby a seedling, its never going to be worth the trouble if it's because of growth. I have one I will destroy this year after because I really like the bloom and have been hopeing for some heavenly intervention for three years, it's just not going to happen.

Lots of seed I planted last Saturday (July 7) are up so I have five weeks to clean out the two year old seedling beds and get them ready for planting. Filled 14 more trays yesterday to plant the next 1000.
Flaged this yesterday to move this fall

That's tragic about that gorgeous seedling, Fred. It's so unique and beautiful, but I get what you're saying about its parentage: "PLANT HABIT AWFUL X SCAPE IS DO-DO"... Ah yes, tough tough decisions!

I'm really glad you're the one to decide. That bloom is sooooo orange!!! I might possibly have the ability but I'm quite sure I'd get a few seeds to bloom before I chunked it. Never know what them their genes might produce. Rolling on the floor laughing

Your Scarlet Angel seedlings are so wonderful. I just love that clear bright red. Do you think the Marlyn Morss seedling will grow into a pattern eye? I think I can see a pattern on the sepals trying to form.

Michele - I love that zigzag eye on the Lillian's Stoke the Fire baby. It's certainly one to watch for further developments. The Scarlet Angel kids are looking good too!

Great showing on those tiny little seedlings, Michele! I'm certainly a few weeks behind you, but I'm hoping to start planting in 2-3 weeks.

Mona, these are not the tree trays. They are just the 72 hole seed trays which are 2 1/2" deep. The tree trays are I believe 5" deep. We don't keep them in the trays long enough to need the deeper trays.

Are they planted in sand?
