Thanks everyone. Once they rebloom, I can evaluate them better. There will be some I'm moving to the keeper bed but since most are blooming so late and won't have rebloom I will have to choose what will stay put for evaluation next year.

I'm in the process of digging up the ones who don't have scapes and potting them (and there are a lot). The bed I have them in they are planted too close together (at the time I didn't have room for them all to plant further apart) and the roots are all growing together so it is way too hard to dig any up if they aren't the ones on the outside. If they are in pots it's just easier to grab it and toss it if it's not a keeper or grab it to plant in the keeper bed.

Best bunch of seedlings I have seen in sometime. Really like all of them. I have the same problem planting them in pinebark in a box, those roots really run. If I see one I want to keep or have sold on the auction I may damage three or four near it getting it out of the box, it doesn't matter because I am likely going to compost those anyway. No matter how close those seedlings are planted they will bloom and remember you will compost 99% of them anyway even if you pot them. Lots of double work, I would leave them where they are and spread the new ones more.

I moved some of the seedlings today, it started pouring rain so they will actually get replanted in the "keep an eye on bed" tomorrow. I was hoping to be able to see rebloom on them but with soooo much to do and with no guarantee they will rebloom this year since they are blooming so late I won't have time later in the fall to move them so I will just have to see them rebloom next year to evaluate better. Some may end up being bridge plants and most will probably not make the cut but you never know Green Grin!

(Halloween Hocus Pocus x Julie Newmar) x (Rock Solid x God Save The Queen) first scape was 7" bloom, 33" scape, sets seed, has the possibility of 5-6 way branching so we will see next year when I can see a whole season of it.

I'm not breeding for doubles and it's just a plain double but I love the parents and I figured if the habits get good and it continues to double (as it has been doing) then I can say I did a double

Open My Eyes x Orange Blossom Trail sets pods on every bloom and the scape has great potential so may be a bridge

Buddy's Black Jack x Scarlet Angel I'm not breeding for darks, the pods were on the plant when given to me so I planted them. It has a great scape

Pink Aloha x Raspberry Mountain
Thumb of 2012-07-11/tink3472/98b8ee

Open My Eyes x Jelly Maker I moved this one because the scape is good and even though it's a look a like, if it will set pods (too hot to try now) I will use it since Jelly Maker doesn't set pods
Thumb of 2012-07-11/tink3472/76f4ac

Shores Of Time x Sara Martin I don't care for the bloom too much, but the scape is great and could be a bridge plant

There are a few more I'm tossing around to maybe move at the moment and I still have lots of scapes coming up

This bloomed today for the first time and I LOVE the eye on it how it zigzags a bit. It may not make it but it will stay put until next year.

I decided not to pot up the unbloomed seeedlings (Fred knows best:greengrin: ) and when one blooms that I know won't be kept or sold I will dig them up and toss. That way the ones that I want to look at some more or haven't bloomed yet will have plenty of room. As I've been digging I have found several that I already tossed because they are still the size of a 6 week seedling (go figure)

Michelle I have a few seedlings that have never gotten very big in comparison to others. I just keep trying to get them going. Maybe I should quit wasting time and toss them too. So you keep track of the tossed ones s you don't make them again??

Well this is my first year with seedlings so I'm learning as I go. But no I'm not keeping track of the one I toss. If all the seedlings in the particular crosses that have these pencil size ones were like that then I would make note and not do it again, however, the rest of the ones in these crosses are normal size. Just like most seedlings in a cross will never be keepers but you get the few that are so the cross is worth making again.
My thought is if it's not strong enough to grow big like the rest it needs to be tossed. I don't want to have to give it more effort than the rest because it will probably never make it on it's own without a whole lot of extra

Good way to think of weak seedlings. I am now going to toss a few and not feel so bad. I don't have room for weaklings and time to baby them more than others and I am sure anyone buying would not want that either. Thanks Tink.
