You might be right, Woofie, it just doesn't bother me.

I refreshed, Lynn, and still I see blue in the forums to the right of the list of threads.
So I dunno. Dave might be working his magic again.

I also see a faint hint of gray in the headers where it says 'You are subscribed to' and 'Daily gardening ideas' as well as in the 'post a reply to . . . '

Maybe I'm blinded by the light.

Hi Everyone, Look'n nice. My only comment is the small font size in the Gardening Ideas box as seen on the right hand side of the home page. I can read everything on the website...except that.

Confused I don't see a Gardening Ideas box on the right side of my home page, only the Random Plant. Ideas is in the list at the top of my screen, along with Forums, Lists, Blogs, Recommendations etc.

Sharon said:About the blue:

The thing is the home page now has such a fresh clean look, I really like it.
The blue continues in the forums and behind the ads, etc. which is where I usually am.

I don't spend a lot of time on the home page, so the white is simply refreshing to me. Suddenly a newcomer has found a nice clean page; soothing and calm, unencumbered by flashing lights and dazzling colors. The dazzle comes from the images scattered throughout.

Of course if the blue comes back, I probably wouldn't complain. Blue is calming too. Either way, I love the new navigation features.

Now see, the white is not soothing to me at all. And it's not just on the home page, it's staring at me here while I type this reply. I don't think blue is the right choice - I really think an ivory/off-white/cream would keep the clear/crisp/refreshing feel of it without hurting tired eyes.

and while I'm thinking of things... Dave, what you do you think about on the navigation bar at top, having a separate link for "new user info" that would open directly into the Welcome/tips/whatever that forum is called? Trying to look at it from the standpoint of someone who just walked in here from out of the blue, and might not be all that computer literate, it would be nice to see something specific to new users.

valleylynn said:I just looked at the Daylily Forum, where all the threads are listed. It shows the big wide white column on the right. Nothing in it.

Dave, inside the daylily forum, at least, this stuff isn't as wide as the screen, like it used to be. I read ATP on a 22" widescreen monitor, and the forum only takes half my screen, where it used to go almost all the way across. Are there some issues with sizing going on?

And the reply box is tiny, too (comparatively speaking). It's only as big as the left hand side of Chelle's picture

I just did a random test of perhaps a dozen forums and I'd venture to guess that all of the thread lists are affected this way. Is anyone seeing both the wide (normal) and the narrow ones?

[I'm also using W7, FF, and a 19" monitor.]

I see wide format in the primary screens but the forums themselves are now.

All the forums I have looked at appear to have space to the far right. Perhaps waiting for those pictures we so love.

I use firefox and a 17 inch monitor laptop

That's how they look to me too, except for a bit wider white area.

I just discovered that by doing a <Ctrl> + I could force the image to fill the screen.

I don't know the technical words for that but it does expand the text and the images and fills the screen from border to border

I am using W7, FF and have a 20" monitor. It never had the empty white column on the right before yesterday.

Marilyn, do you use the + in that combination? Or just Ctrl 1?
