This is sort of OT Dave but this has been happening to me for some time --- at least 2 months:
Any page of posts I go to the screen comes up for that thread but at the TOP of that page of posts & hangs there for a second & THEN drops down to the first unread. For example --- when I come to this thread --- the page comes up & I get to see CDsSisters post at the top of the page here for maybe the count of one entire second before it drops down to the first unread post.

Is this happening to anyone else? Or is it just me. Running Google Chrome here. I also have IE & just tried it on that & it goes straight to the first unread post.

That happens because it is loading the entire page first, then skipping you down to where you're needing to be. I don't know of a way to get around that.

Life is like that --- yeah it is!

Here I've been going to say something to you for the longest kind of time & always held off. Too strange.

dave said:Just an FYI , folks, I like hearing the feedback but please don't expect that I'll be making a lot of changing during the coming week. I want us to live with it as it is for now and in a week (or two), I can (and will) make some tweaks based on the feedback I've heard.

Wait -- you want us to be PATIENT?!?!?!?!?!? Rolling on the floor laughing

Has it really always been white on the borders (for instance, over by the random plant on the home page)? I could swear it was a different background color (green comes to mind, for some reason, or maybe a blue-ish color). Maybe the new other colors make the white more noticeable to us or something.

The right side of my page was blue, the same color that's now on the bottom of the page. Now it's white, I liked the blue. Sad

I'm trying to remember.
There might have been a blue box beneath the Random Plant photo, the blue box where ads show in the forums. I really can't remember that.

The tabs buttons used to be green and blended better with the banner, so now with the new links in the light gray bar instead of the tabs, it seems to cut into the banner a little bit, especially with the blue welcome bar across the top. Maybe that's what grabbed Hetty and I can understand that.

That might be the overall difference that is distracting our regular members, too.

I love the new look as I've mentioned before but I am just trying to see what seems so different. This is about the only thing I can come up with. Even so, I'm very happy with the new look. Smiling

I'm pretty sure that blue strip was on all the pages. I could, of course, be wrong. Hilarious!

Leave it to Woofie to have an old screen shot!!! Always the troublemaker! Hilarious!

But now that I see that view again, I have to agree that the blue is a little more pleasing to the eyes. Whistling

hmmm, I still think that the menu bar background (which is light grey now) should be transparent so you can see the banner beneath it. I don't think it would make it any harder to see the menu items. However, it's been a few years since I messed with web design and back then, IE could not see the transparent part and would fill it in with white. Just a tiny reason that we all hated IE so much.

Ann, how many items per page are you set at? The fewer the faster.

If you look on the far outside edge of both Woofie's screen shot and the one Sharon found, you can see the TINY white strip that was the border, so technically, the border has always been white. It just didn't used to be as "huge" as it is now.

Glad you guys found the screen shot - was beginning to think I had imagined it all. Hilarious!

Thanks Evan, but I'm set at 20 which is the fewest I can be set at. It's actually going pretty well since I opened my big mouth. Hilarious! It either doesn't hesitate at all or when it does it's just for a heartbeat.
