Tom: I really love your Pinks. I also like how you show the parents followed by the offspring. It's all so interesting to me.

Thanks Brad, 15-8-A was my favorite one of all this year. This is the first year that I got to see any of the crosses I made with Magical. I wish the blue wash on the falls would show up on the pictures. I want to work at making that more saturated, but not sure what to cross it on to do that.

I can't wait until you start posting your seedling pictures. I'm sure they will be awesome as usual. Smiling

Tom ..I struggle getting the wash to show up in pictures too almost need the perfect lighting conditions too do it overcast mornings seem to be the best I had lot's of those days in Salem this year pictures turned out good .. Keep working the Ghio lines on your pinks he is in a class all to himself there Star Turn has been awesome seeing lots of good things come from it another favorite this year that was very fertile was Clear Conscience loved it Smiling here is a sample of what popped up in his seedling patches this year some of the colors are so intense I don't know how to describe them we both stood there in awe Lovey dubby I also really like some of Thomas Johnson's pinks Hold Me Now is an excellent parent and giving some beautiful blends of colors.

Ive got vacation coming up in a couple weeks Smiling will have free time to share pictures had a good season at home hybridizing almost 200 pots of seeds this year I got to see a lot of the older seedlings from 2012-13 bloom and was really happy with some of them but the newer things not so much the deer ate the majority down to the nubs they survived just fine shockingly even after the -50 temps but very few bloomed should be excellent this spring as they are in clumps now.

Those sure are some amazing blooms. It would be hard to choose a favorite out of those for sure. My Star Turn is barely surviving, and only bloomed once with an SDB sized bloom. Not sure if there's enough to make the winter. I've had it since it was introduced. I did use the pollen from it though, and got one pod to develop. Those seedlings are due to bloom this coming summer. Crossing Fingers!

Tom.. The color combo's was incredible this year but his bloom season was really really good everything flowered perfectly and lots of things in 2 year clumps that never happens at Joe's it was a real treat this year to see it and find the brand new ones opening.

That's funny how they grow different all over the country it grows really well here I'll have to send you some pinks to play with in your box from what bloomed this year and what I saw in Oregon it will give off that saturated pink your looking for an example is this one it's one of Keith's 14-88 the pedigree is a (Silk Road seedling x Strawberry Shake) x Star Turn beautiful color and the show branching it looked really good this year and I think he liked it a lot Smiling so there's hope.

Kent..They are Joe Ghio's the majority were 1st year he's really found some color breaks in his pink lines now if I could only get him to introduce more of them Smiling

Daphne.. Me Too!! Lovey dubby I want them all and quiet a few more he has growing there.

Barbara.. He hit the jackpot this year on a number of things pinks and white's are his speciality not sure if you like Oranges/yellows but he had some colors I haven't seen before pop up in them Smiling really excited to watch there progress.

Robin.. I could find a spot for them all nodding

Brad, I love the oranges and yellow too. I've had to try stop buying a lot of oranges since I have so many of them.

That's a really nice pink seedling. I had one seedling from the cross of Fantasy In Pink and Magical that had nice saturated color, but the bloom was a mess.

Brad - this one of Joe's really has my attention. The purple hafts and light purple rim on the falls just looks so different to me from most iris out there. Lovely form, and great picture as always!

I loved seeing that pink of Keith's too. Seems like they are all working on pinks and oranges right now.

Brad: I think the color on Star Appeal, Hollywood and I am assuming some of the other Ghio Pinks, reminds me of the old bottled Penicillin. Penicillins Pink Smiling

Not fond of the color for medicines but on a flower, it's perfection!!

I had a cross with Star Appeal X Diamond Blush that I was really excited about but I transplanted the seedlings to the garden too soon and lost them Angry But looks like others still prize so there will be more to come regardless of their beginnings.

As much as I love pink, that Mauve colored Iris is my favorite of the last few groups. I don't think there is anything like it!!

Evelyn.. I have the same issue every year nodding somehow I always find a spot..

Tom.. Keep working the pink lines amazing how many different color hues and patterns that are popping up in those lines soon we will have different colored bands on them, the spots on the falls in pinks, beards in different colors they keep getting more blue just a lot to look forward too in the future.

Les.. Joe had a record year so many of the 1st year bloomers were different then anything else I have seen it was a lot of fun walking his gardens I tried to convince him to meet me in Oregon but his garden were incredible this year.

Elsa.. Star Appeal is wonderful I used it a couple years ago it gave quite a few seedlings in it's color very pretty would encourage you to keep working with his plants lots of good things will come from those lines Smiling

This group of seedlings was just opening as I was leaving loved the colors in all of them especially the 3rd one don't know how you would describe it Lovey dubby
