I have two heat mats that I used to get them germinated, but I read that once they germinate, you should remove the heat mat.

I find pepper plant odd in that in the Fall once they have been acclimated them withstand lots of cold. Actually better than the tomato plants .

In the Spring those little pepper plants are the exact opposite. I always put my tomato plants in the ground before pepper plants. The tomatoes have always been just fine in temps that would damage the peppers.

Yes, very sensitive to the cold.

It is just too cold these daylight hours for any of my veggie starts to go outside during the day some to start to harden off. Some warmer days would really help them grow.

Tomato starts do look pretty good though but need to get outside the most.

It was warmer a few weeks ago! Decided to bring the pepper seedlings inside tonight. The low is supposed to be 27, so my greenhouse will probably be around 50. I'll move them back out tomorrow. Unseasonably cool/cold. D'Oh!

Aren't you worried about frost, Marilyn?

Supposed to go down to 27 here tonight. That means my greenhouse will be in the 40's. I'm either going to tent everything or move my seedlings into the house tonight.

Jim - I think Marilyn transplanted them indoors, not in the garden.

I can't even put the seedlings out during the day to start hardening off. Still way to cold.

Pirl is right, I just replanted them into larger pots, the kind WFF uses for it's tomatoes & peppers....I save them every year.....of course, since I don't have a greenhouse or even grow lights, my peppers never get very large....tomatoes do OK though....I planted the smaller variety, Indigo Rose.

I just moved all my pepper seedlings into the basement for tonight...again! I think these pepper seedlings have done more traveling than me during Covid 19! D'Oh!

Rita...When do you usually start using Super Bloom on your peppers? Mine are only getting their first true set of leaves, only about an inch tall. It's just been too chilly. I figure it is too early, but I want to know when "The Master of Peppers" usually starts the Super Bloom feeding. Thanks.

My tomatoes are about 2-3 inches tall and looking good. I will probably have to move my cabbages out of their peat pots into larger pots this week.

My tomato seedlings are getting tall already and way ready to go outside to get hardened off. But too cold out!!

I don't use Super Bloom on my peppers until after they are planted out in the garden for a few weeks and starting to grow well and branch out. So maybe 3 weeks?

No prefect time, you can start whenever you want really.

It really does make a big difference as far as getting the plants to set a lot of blooms and keep setting blooms even as those plants are loaded in growing peppers.

I like to take a watering can, make the super bloom mix weaker than recommended and just water the leaves and let them soak up the nutrients.

Love SuperBloom!!
