You still have a lot of wonderful color spring.
I'll try to get some photos tomorrow afternoon, when I get home. My coleus bit the dust night before last. : (
I have that black mondo grass. I was going to move it to a pot too. I just cant decide which one.
I am jealous of the J.Blood grass. Its not hardy here.
Weatherman says Sat morning heavy frost on the grass.Thats it for my planters, they cant tolerate one of those. Hostas too I expect.
The leaves are very thick, almost giving the impression of a succulent. It is in a small nursery pot and has not been watered in a couple of weeks. I would call that tough.
Spring, yes, there's still peeks of great color. My fall planting (that is non succulent) usually consist of an evergreen as bkgrd color and then kale (if I can find the colorful ones).
I did this one in Nov. Found the pail at the goodwill. Picture was taken today the 3rd of Jan. Holding up very good with the cold temps. we been having
Yay for Kale!! I love Kale as the focal point for my Fall Planting. It's the only thing I do (makes life easy: one decision with the same plant always)
That is Santolina 'Lemon Fizz' It's evergreen good to zone 6 and adds a nice bright green to the container. H 12-15" and W12-18". This is my first year with it.
Santolina is a good xeriscape kind of plant. In NM, the species used was more sage green. I have a front lawn that needs landscaping. We purchased the house under the stipulation that my husband would never have to touch a lawn mower. So this front yard may have to be xeriscaped to save watering and Santolina will be a good candidate for the mounded bed I have in mind.
