Thanks for the compliments and the thumbs but those seedlings are going to have to start improving pretty fast because I will be needing space for the new ones hopefully during August. I do have a fairly new pitch fork I plan to try out on the ones that don't make the grade. So far looks like I will have a lot of new space.

Fred, I love the green star-like effect on your seedling Lillian's Katelyn Joy x Gaelic Galaxy.

Larry, put that pitch fork to good use then. I will be doing the same this year with some seedlings planted in 2015 from a cross of 'Emerald Toucanet x Malachite Sunbird'. Had 23 and gave two away last year. Most of mine have pretty blooms and sturdy scapes, but they do not hold up in the sun very well and so far bud count has been low. I think 5 years is long enough.

This bloomed yesterday for the first time, I think its the largest round dip seedling I have seen here.
Circle Game x Lillian's Alabama Stud 5.75" Hope the pattern gets better as the weather improves. Its been in the 40s at night for several days.

Betty this thing does have sterile pollen, it does set seed which I want keep the plant or the seed. I will not work with any of my own stuff the has this problem. Like Larry I will make room for something else.

Fred -- WOW! That first seedling is amazing! I hope it does really well and makes it to introduction, and someday I want a fan or two of it! What an eye catcher! Hurray! Lovey dubby Thumbs up

And I'm so sorry about the second one. I know how strict you are about your requirements, tho... and that's a good thing.

Fred, that Circle Game x Lillian's Alabama Stud is a stunner. Drooling
Sorry about the low temps. Grumbling Our usual many nights of April freezing
weather are here, and that is after the warmer Feb. and March with rain
sent these plants into what now appears to be almost mature
plants. Grumbling

Larry, lovely blooms as usual. Lovey dubby You are enjoying those blooms too,
no doubt. Exciting to see isn't it? Makes our days all the more

The seedlings were way ahead of the registered plants, but now it seems the tide is turning and the registered plants are pulling ahead as far as number blooming. It is exciting to walk down to the garden and see the new seedlings blooming, I just keep hoping for that day I walk down and see something that looks as good as some of Fred's. Maybe after a few more years I will start seeing something like I hoped I was creating when I spread all that pollen around. I did see a red down in one of the 2018 seedling beds late this afternoon that caught my eye, just a nice large plain red bloom, but it was out in the sun all day and still looked great! I will pay more attention to it from now on.

I did nothing so far in the garden today except take a few photos. Here are a few of what was blooming in the seedling beds this morning.
I have several seedlings from this cross Whooperee x Pleated Perfection. This is a deceptive photo of a 2019 seedling, but I planted all the seeds in a cup together. So this might have been one to several seedlings, There is a difference in the booms. All my seedlings were planted in that manner, so it makes knowing exactly what will bloom from a tightly planted group of seedlings from the same cross a little surprising sometimes. I noticed the other day where I had planted a cross and being there were several seeds in the cup when planted together, one fan had a nice bright red bloom and another fan had a pretty yellow! If I ever get anything worth keeping I will have to divide the clumps into separate fans to get the one I rally want. I have been complaining about how close together my seedlings are, and dumb me just realized one main reason is because there are a group of seedling growing not just a single seedling. I may change my planting method this year, and see if that works better, it is either that or make more paths. The plants are just getting way to large and close together for me to work with them efficiently.

Larry,

Whooperee x Pleated Perfection.
Thumb of 2020-04-18/Seedfork/25d83a I like the one with the white rib. Lovey dubby

Wings On High x Color Flash
Thumb of 2020-04-18/Seedfork/08b8f6 I like the toothy edge that is showing on this one. I looked at the parentage on this cross and saw at least one (parent or grandparent) don't recall had really nice bud count.

Because I have WAY more seedlings in my basement than I have room to plant, I too was toying with the idea of planting a group of "same crosses" in a clump. I may live to regret it...but will have to either give some away or plant in clumps.

I am so amazed at the patterns that you get on your diploids, Fred! It's getting harder to differentiate between dips and tets as breeding becomes more advanced.
