Thank-you all for your compliments.

Vicki and Anna. I purchased 'Frankly Scarlett' from Oaks in 2009 when my passion for daylilies was in its infancy, and I began this incredible experiment with growing daylilies. Oaks sent me a beautiful triple fan back then, which has developed into a gorgeous clump today. The color on 'Frankly Scarlett' is truly unique and quite stunning. Flower size 4.5". Blooms as a clump for 3 weeks solid. Tons of buds. Thumbs up No rebloom.

Alex - So happy to see your photo of BARBARA MANDRELL and to hear it's your truest red. I just bought it recently for spring delivery.

Big red trivia time. First up: KING LAMONI.
For whom is it named? No cheating now.

Eek! I assume "no cheating" means "no googling" ..... Blinking

Lamoni ... sounds like it could be a Hawaiian king ... was he the first king to introduce Lemons to Oahu? Hilarious!

Lol. Yes, you can goggle. It is for King Lamoni from the 'The Book of Mormon', apparently.

But, there are English hybridisers, King-Lamone, who have been around for yonks and it might just have been spelt wrongly.

Debra…You will love 'Barbara Mandrell'. Great garden habits, outstanding bloom, gorgeous color, and remarkable work ethic. It's the little engine that could. It was still blooming for me in early September when the night-time temps fell into the 40's. One of my fav's!! Thumbs up

Thank you, fellow gardeners.

I do not have enough light at this time to photograph; however, there are three flowers blooming this early morning. Rendition has a new bloom.

This one I am still trying to identify, it's a burnt orangy red, really stands out in the yard, as I only have a small red on the other side of the yard. I will measure for spider form when it flowers.

This one is Baltimore Oriole.

Big Red Wagon is on my wishlist Smiling
