I've ordered "Reindeer Antlers" and "Season Finale" for spring, they look like a couple great reds!

This one has been a favorite Red in my zone 5 garden. Strong well branched scape with lots of blooms. Pod Fertile

RED CHILE RENDEZVOUS

SPACECOAST LIL' HOTTIE X ORANGE BLOSSOM TRAIL - One of my favorite red seedlings from 2013 Spacecoast Little Hottie dominated this cross. For those working with reds this is a good cross, even though SCLH is a mini the seedling bloom is 5.5" above a 29" scape. I have a few mini crosses this coming spring using SCLH.

Reindeer Antlers is a great red. Bright, clear with wonderful saturation. I may have shown this image further back in the thread, but I'm in need of some color today with this nor'easter coming through... everything is white.

I love that bright red, seems I prefer the "plain" daylilies. The data base says this has 5 way branching, does yours do that?

Reindeer Antlers was new here early summer 2012, last year was it's first full year in the garden. I don't remember it having the 5 way branching it is registered with ... I try not to judge performance such as branching for at least two preferably three years. The plants really need to have a chance to settle in here.

A great red in my front yard is Spider Man. people walking by stop and ask what it is.

I have always admired 'Spider Man', a beautiful daylily, plus it has a 1.0 rust resistance rating. How neat is that?

Lyle, that is a great seedling. Besides the color, I especially like the bloom to height ratio.

Lisa, i got Spider Man last year from Morning_star on the LA after reading good things about it. Can't wait to see it perform here.

Glen, the answer is yes you do!!!

I have had Spider Man for years and it is very fast clumping and a very hardy plant. The only down size to it is that it is very hard to divide. Roots all seem to grow together. Of course maybe its my clay soil here.
