Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Oh how I wish I could have gorgeous blooms like yours all winter. Great!!! Looking forward to reading your report Gerry.

There's a few each year that I think of keeping in the house
to protect them during the winter. Just been afraid to try
with new plants in particular.

Kim,

I have two cats and the female does like to eat daylily leaves. I place the pots out of her reach. She is too heavy to jump any where. Once in a while, I put a leaf where she can eat it.

The other cat, a very large black male with no balls, has no interest.

I have all kinds of other plants, but the daylily is the only one that the female wants to eat.

Yes, I have the problem that one of my ragdolls now wants to eat daylilies and not grass. I am petrified of the warning that daylilies are toxic to felines. However, mine has not died yet. Maurice's cats haven't died either. But I have seen on the ATP threads somewhere that someone reckons it does kill and that they lost a cat to kidney failure.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

Thanks everyone..... those seedlings were 1st year blooms last summer. As with many spuf forms, they will develop more this year, or so I hope, LOL! Here's another out of Olallie Red. The photo just doesn't do the color saturation & the sheen of the bloom justice. The pollen parent is Twilight Tarantula. The bud count is so-so on this one, but I kept it to work with.

This is another seedling of mine, RAV 12-016, & it's a future intro. This one is from seeds won from my friend "gramps" (Ed Burton) on the LA site. The cross is Persian Ruby X Robb Cobb. The BC on this thing was in the 40's. Totally magnificent plant habit, with a big bold bloom.

I am very late to this thread but have enjoyed seeing everyone red beauties….and, have been adding some to my ever expanding wish list. Below are a few of my reds.

My truest red red is Barbara Mandrell, and I love it. Bloomed for almost 7 weeks straight.

Sdlg. Linda Sierra X Lavender Reflections - (this sdlg. actually begins blooming as bright purple, and as the days get hotter, changes to bright red. Quite remarkable.)
