Ive never had squirrls dig up my bulbs...has always surprised me...I planted 200 Crocus in the lawn years ago...Then I put weed and feed on the lawn, the next year...Umm... Sad I had no more crocus the next spring....Duhh...It was soo pretty too...I have to weed and feed the grass here or I will have just dirt...well maybe not so much now...I will have more sun. I keep forgetting that we cut down all those trees ...it was very shaded down front no so any more

I planted crocus in a right of way area and when we mowed in spring the necessary leaves were cut down.
I was told if the leaves dont mature the bulb will die.

That is one reason I have never planted crocus in the lawn. I figgured the mowing would kill them. So I just put crocus in the garden beds. But next year I want to get more crocus to put around the garden.

Last spring I truely realised I had hardly ANY crocus at all. They just slowely dissapeared from all my years of redoing the gardens around here. And since I want to have flowers in bloom here from early spring on, I really needed to replace my crocus to start up the spring show. But next fall I will be adding even more crocus as they are a great start to the gardening year.

We don't have many, but I put a circle of 'snow crocus' obvioulsy a small species around some pink cupped daffodils. they are still there, the daffs are not.

I have a crocus that blooms very early and spreads like mad.

Big Grin Not me. I'm still hibernating. Rolling on the floor laughing

Until today, we'd had fresh snow almost every day for the last week or so; it's so pretty!

The sun shone all day today. It was wonderful to sit in my window chair, sorting seeds, and soaking up all of that extra warmth!

Birds seem to be heavy eaters here too.Must be the "time out" from the blizzard that brings on the appetite.

Just the opposite here. The past few days I have been thinking that I just haven't seen many birds around. And I usually see plenty.

Our family of tufted titmice has led the tube feeder gang. chickadees active as well. We have a suet feeder with a 'tailboard' underneath which attracks the Hairy & sometimes a red bellied woodpecker.

Sounds wonderful.
I bought what I thought was suet and turns out there were big bones cleverly disguised in it.I hung it for a week and no takers so I took it out of the cage and the crows finished it off.
