I agree it is cheering.

Today I'm amazed again by how much we adapt to our conditions without even really being aware of it. It's 29 degrees here, fairly calm and sunny, and it feels warm! Hilarious!
I might get outdoors pretty soon and putter around by straightening up the springhouse. One of the joys involved with doing that is I can hear the birds so much better.

Local groundhog here on Long Island had seen his shadow so more weeks of winter preducted here. And it turns out he was correct as we are supposed to have a major winter blizzard here Friday going unto Saturday morning. So far they are saying 14 inches but that could change.

I am still on my exercise and healthy diet kick and work out every day.

Made my fiber protein slurry that I have each day a little different this time. Added the RAW FIBER, a scoop of Andrew Lessmans WHEY powder, half a scoop of SECURE MEAL (which I have been adding because it improves the flavor) and a half scoop of GOTEIN. Mix it all in the blender and I have had my super duper nutrious health food for the day.

I also take the Garden Of Life PERFECT FOOD RAW capsules (8 of those a day) whuch give me all the super benefits of green foods. They have so many in there. Especially when one first starts on them you can just feel the chlorophyll in them.

Between these two things I do gets me supercharged for healthy eating and loving. I do still eat lots of veggies but even if I didn't (or just couldn't get enough) I would already have my servings of veggies. Also much of the fiber and a good start on the protein needed for the day.

I am still exercising everyday trying to loose weight. Slow going but I have to keep at it. I really hope for a much slimmer and stronger me by spring gardening season.

A good day for the exercising today. I did 30 minutes on my Gizelle exerciser, 100 crunches and 600 count on the stepper.

The ab crunches are something I have added recently and figgure couldn't hurt as far as getting the fat belly tucked in. Yes, I know only loosing weight will get me a flatter tummy but I am working on that also. No lying on the floor for me. I found it works just fine lying on my living room couch.

Also working harder on the Gizelle. So while I am still on it for say 20-30 I make it harder to do by reving up the motion.

On the stepper I changed the resistance to a #4 for the first time today. I had been working at #3 (it goes from 1-5). That increase from the 3 to 4 is something that really can be strongly felt so I have to work much harder to push those pedals down now than I did before.

So a very good exercise day today.

Afraid that i don't have that much energy. The worst thing is that I pulled a muscle in my rib cage yesterday & it hurts to breathe. Batten down for the storm, rita. Over 20" predicted for here.

We had about 18 inches of snow here around my house on Long Island. Thank goodness the power stayed on.

18 on the drivway, probably more in other spots. People were allowed back on the roads after 4pm. The plow has passed a few times, but no real clearing. Portland Maine had almost 32"

I am in Nassau County but Suffolk County here on LI got socked the worse. But the very edge of the north shore here in Nassau county also got it extra bad. Airports have opened but many roads in Suffolk are still closed including the Long Island Expessway.

The snow took out half of my Siryuse JM. Its going to mean clever pruning to make it shape up.
There is a down side to all that snow.

Sorry to hear of your snow damage, Jo Ann. Sad Just the opposite here. Because we've had little snow to shovel onto the roses, the rabbits are eating them. Most of my floribundas and other shrub roses are just stumps right now...some of those remaining canes are peeled as well. I should have buried them with compost like I usually do, but that task didn't get done this winter.

I'm hoping your plant makes a nice recovery.

Tam, I hope you're feeling better soon.

Do you have any sprouts yet? On a whim, I tossed some Lupine seeds in a spare container and kept them indoors. They started showing a couple of days ago. Big Grin I'm always extra tickled to see those first ones of the season appear.

Oh Lupines are sooooooo pretty. Unfortunately I don't have them anymore as they died in the summer heat.

Mine usually die too, but Mom can grow them next door so I keep trying. She has hers planted right at the edge of a shallow deck. I'm assuming that they prosper there because of the cooler soil beneath it. If mine live past the seedling stage I'll try planting them in a similar spot and see what happens. Or pile cut logs around them, like I do for the ferns and clematis.

I hope it works for you as the lupines are just sooooo pretty.

I was just watcdhing the news and they are saying more snow possible for Wednesday night. Not much but still. Many in Suffolk County here on Long Island are not yet plowed out from the big snowstorm last weekend.
