Very nice, Susan! Bob is very generous with gift plants. You are adding lots of very pretty daylilies. We'll all be looking forward to pictures next year.

I placed an order with Floyd Cove, too. We are getting three new intros (Watermelon Red, Little Alabama, Little Dunkin), one 2012 intro (Red Bull), and several from the general price list which we already have except for one because the prices are too good to pass up, such as Cosmic Kaleidoscope that you are getting. We have an order (six 2013's plus two from the general price list) coming from the Trimmers, too. I am excited about those, because I want to do some hybridizing with a few of those.

Susan, those plants look great. I have Jungle Butterfly, and it does great.
Fast increaser, many blooms. However, I can't get it to set a pod or use
for pollen for some reason. I've tried several times. I like the eye zone, and
would like to cross it with another to get a complex eye, but no luck yet.

I love the Lily Auction, but I am a bit intimidated by it. Guess it will take
awhile to get comfortable with the process. Have never done auctions
before until recently.

My best tip would be, to bid the highest you are willing to go the first time and then you do not have to keep returning and repeat bidding to move up a small amount. The other bidder might become frustrated and stop lol.

Thanks everybody!! Green Grin!

Teresa, you are right about that, just put in the amount you are willing to pay. If you get out bid you can let go or re-evaluate things. I've been on eBay for a long time and this is right up my alley, I love it!

Those auctions are not good for my blood pressure because I get really tense when it comes to upping my Maximum Bid near the end if I really really want something. So if it's not too much more I've learned to go for the Buy It Now... And I love the Instant Buys and Store Items the most!

Great tips ladies, but like Betty, it's not good for my blood pressure either.

This may or may not be related to the previous discussion. This is a question for any of you who happen to be sellers on the auction. What if you in good conscience try to send out decent orders, although you are only a small time seller. You generally send out extra fans when possible to the customers. Then what if you accidentally stumble across another venue, and lo and behold, the person who bought those plants from you has turned around and is selling what they are calling "extra" fans they acquired this fall, and some of them happen to be the very ones you sold this person.

I know, once you sell it, it's none of your business what the customer does with it. But right now, I'm not feeling very inclined to want to sell to this person again. You used to be able to block people from bidding on your auctions, but I think that might have been removed. Does anyone know? Am I just over-reacting?

You can still block people from bidding and buyers can block certain sellers from showing up on display list. Go to 'My lilies Page', and you will see it.
I heard that they kicked a lady off the LA for reselling fans after splitting them. I can't remember who said that or where I heard it, but maybe if you know someone doing that you should report it and also block that bidder.

I had a buyer do that with seeds I sold her and in fact she was using my pictures without my permission. I emailed her about using someone else's pics without permission. I told her I didn't have a problem with it if she asked me for permission. I never heard from her again.

I'm not a seller of daylilies, just irises, but I've had that happen a few times. I figure once they bought them, they are theirs to do what they will. Maybe they didn't like the bonus. Maybe they don't need that many fans. Maybe they need the money. But they bought them, and it's theirs.

Are you over reacting. No, your feelings are hurt.

Use of the pictures is something else again, unless they are simply linking to them, which usually winds up giving you additional business.
