Very pretty hairy Echeverias. I really like the happy clump, with the high contrast against the rocks around it. Thumbs up

For what it's worth, Bob, I don't think that second plant is var. deminuta, but another variety of the species. Var. deminuta is named for its small rosettes (usually about 2" wide). Its leaves have a characteristic club shape (relatively narrow, relatively thick) with few hairs, mostly concentrated in a tuft near the tip.

I think your plant is actually var. minor, which Pilbeam calls "all over ciliate," not that it really matters much in the big picture. Most of the images in the database entry for deminuta are also minor, so this seems to be a pretty common switcheroo at the nursery level.

Thanks for the update Baja.
I always thought it was too big for the name dimunitive.
My supplier has problems with names.
They sold me an Echeveria globulosa that turned out to be Sedum clavatum
the flowers tell all.

Interesting how the flowers are more golden then red, that's sort of unusual. The red stripe is a good look.

Echeveria flowers on the patio here.... not that you'd know, but this photo is a composite of 13 individual shots, taken with a really small aperture (f/32) so the background would be less blurry (but still effectively backgrounded).

And an unexpected color scheme inside the stem of this Echeveria relative.

Finally here are 2 photos to compare. These are plants that I recently acquired: right after they arrived 10 days ago (having gone >2 weeks without water, been bare-rooted and manhandled across Mexico in a box); and yesterday, about a week after having been watered for the first time.

A display at a local restaurant (the Echeverias are progeny of mine, the pots are made by the owner).

A few setosas up close and personal... the second one needs to spend a couple of hours in the rain before it will be properly photogenic. Smiling

Those colors are really extreme, the dark purple and the pink together, and the texture is as well, the shiny coat combined with the wrinkles and ridges. And the little pointy tips. I like Steve's name a lot.

This looks like a plant that might show great seasonal variation, color-wise, and be somewhat tunable in that respect by varying the intensity for example. Whatever light you've been giving it is obviously perfect, this just a comment about the many alternative states of being which may exist in parallel universes. Smiling

another one in alternative states of being (same clone in both pics)

I think it was a 'Painted Frills'. But I could be wrong.

It's neat how drastically variable Echies can be. I might have to play around with my lighting a bit and see what happens. Smiling

My first thought was E. Painted Frills also.
But my painted frills leaves are longer and not so rounded.
It looks more like this one which came to me labeled as an Aeonium.
However, the flowers proved it wrong, so I know it is an Echeveria.
I just do not know the name.
