Echeveria cuspidata flowers, showing the progression of flower development.

Bottom (youngest) flower has petals open, anthers closed. Left flower has anthers open, immature stigma, yellow center. Right flower has receptive stigma (glistening), reddish center opening up.

I have a soft spot for those small glaucous green plants. Lovey dubby

Here's a couple of closeups that are helpful from the standpoint of identifying hairy Echeverias.

Spreading or splayed sepals (a setosa or harmsii trait)

Sepals pressed up against petals (a pulvinata trait)

For the record, the last plant is a cross of two different species (setosa x pulvinata) but apparently the pulvinata trait dominated. I can see how this feature will be useful to sort out the database, because we have at least one example of a hybrid misfiled under setosa at the moment.

@macrocentra
Thanks TK I was actually a little disappointed when I got it because the pic they had on their website was of a much whiter plant . They do say you need strong light and low nutrient soil to keep the white colour . Something they can't do themselves apparently. I am warming to it more now . It's a nice plant here is their pic

Wow and there is my plant 👍 didn't know It was possible to roll a pic back like that. It's clear on their first image they are trying to over emphasise the white, but it's not clear by how much until you see you comparison

It has continued to push up the flower stalk as soon as i have potted it up despite being in transport and sitting on a shelf in my house for days . Do you think it's best to terminate the stalk if I am trying to get it to settle

I wouldn't assume the over-exposed pic was used for intentional deceit. Many pics that I take during the bright sun of mid-day end up looking washed-out, too light, missing the gorgeous colors I could see in person. The seller may have felt that altering the pic was the wrong thing to do, though I do not know if the ad said it was an unusually light-color plant.

You could, but I wouldn't. The flowers are not all that huge compared to the size of the plant.

Hmm, the jury is frowning at the defendant... that's not a good sign.

They sure are proud of it, what a price!! If it means anything, I love it in all of the pics. : + )

Exactly 😂
I think the fact that I paid top dollar is part of what is making me a little crabby . I have paid more for a plant . But most times I have paid a hell of a lot less . I think it's more of a jade than white , which isn't a bad thing. I don't have many plants that shade 👍
