That's a very colorful specimen!

I have two E. purpusorums. Not nearly as flashy as yours though. Smiling

This one bloomed not too long ago.

Found this on the 'Aha Way' this morning.

And another mystery Echie. It's living on a bright sunny chair in my lounge right now, but is slowly going to be acclimated outside. Though I don't have too much warm weather left for the year...

Very nice!

I think my current two favorites in my collection are my E. setosa in my original post, and this ruffled 'Black Prince' (could be a hybrid of some kind).

That orange pot goes nicely with the color of the flowers. Smiling

Echeveria 'Lola'. I can never get a good picture of this one. It always turns out more green on camera. It has a nice mix of pastel purples and greens in-person.
Thumb of 2020-10-04/Macrocentra/246c99

I wish I had a climate suitable for succulents outdoors. I always thought the 'Lolas' looked nice clustered in a big group. Smiling

Echeveria setosa var deminuta. I found it at Lowes about 1 1/2 months ago in a tiny pot. The leaves lapped over the pot by an inch - I couldn't find a place to water! So I repotted. Its a little battered but is growing out well. Interestingly, this was one of several with the name E. setosa var deminuta but it was the only one with prickles. The rest had smooth leaves.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming...."WOW What a Ride!!" -Mark Frost

... another one bites the dust Whistling

I just can't figure out E. tolimanensis for some reason. Just lost another one. I've tried these a few times now, and not once has one survived a watering in my care. They rot every time. I always put them in unglazed terra-cotta with drainage, with a well draining soil mix. They typically live in the brightest window I have, with some other Echies I've had do well in. This most recent one, I kept outside for the summer and slowly adjusted indoors. It was doing just fine. It hasn't been watered in several weeks, so I gave it a water. Aaaaand rotted. I'm not sure why I have no luck with them. Tried a similar care routine as my other Echies, didn't work. With the new one, I tried spacing out the waterings a few extra weeks apart, didn't work. Anyone know any tricks with these? Sighing!

On another note, here's my "light experiment Echie"
Thumb of 2020-10-06/Macrocentra/06cc0a
Since I obtained it, I decided to put it straight under my new growing lights to see how it would do. My hope was to eventually use the lights to set up an Echeveria shelf, so I decided this little guy would be my first tester. I have four full-spectrum strip lights, and four blue-red strip lights over them all. So far, it's been doing well!

Given it's seemed content under there, I ended up relocating one of my kitchen Echies (the one I posted earlier with the single striped leaf) under the lights. It's newer growth is very different than the original leaves. It switched from longer bluish-green leaves, to more compact purple leaves.

Edit: Here's the picture I posted of it earlier. This is before it was moved under the lights.

Update on the crest and a comparison shot of a normal (non-crested) plant.

I am concerned the groove will retain water during the rainy season (winter) and rot out, but I don't see much I can do except put it under cover. The normal version tends to cup water at the center and takes a while to dry out afterwards.

My Von Nurnberg looks a bit strange compared to any pictures that I have seen online, in that it's tall and kept all of it's lower leaves, and the majority of leaves are pointing downwards instead of upwards.

Does anyone know what's going on with it? Thanks.
