Jackie, Chris sent me this litte semp I loved the color, but look at the container!vThe name of the semp is Sprite, just right for the little girl!!!!

Wow Charleen, you've been busy! Your little angel is so sweet. Robert did a nice job on the toolbox. And your wheelbarrows are going to be great when they start filling in.

I used colored gems to seperate the varieties, but ALL are beautiful. I instantly knew that Sprite would look good in that little statue. It fell over and broke. It is a plastic, I took it and drilled holes in the bottom add spagnum deep in it them the soil and little semps.
I never realized there were so many and you and Lynn sure showed this old Missouri girl, there sure are!!!!!

Love the tool box that Robert made you and very cleaver what you did to keep the much loved hens out of them.
You just gave me an idea on what to do to keep the cats out of my new 24' bed. Will take a photo later and show you when I get it finished. : )
The cats don't bother the older more established beds, but give them some fresh worked soil and they think you have opened a new rest room for them.

Yes, I remember how cats are, just as pesky as my Chickens but don't we just love them??? The chickens are out in the brug beds now scratching what I haven't put rocks on or around...
Lynn, you have some of that wire that is about 1 1/2x 3 '' wide you could use that. I have a little roll but haven't got desperate enough to use it yet. If i didn't put that wire on there it would be a mess. That chicken can jump pretty high for a little fat hen!!!!

Good for you, Charleen - those are wonderful. I agree that the Sprite is the perfect Sempervivum for your little fairy. You could add some Pixie, and Gypsy if you wanted to continue the theme. Oh, and then if you were really inspired, you could make a thyme lawn to display the statue on, and use Elfin Thyme!

I was going back through this thread looking at photos and wondering how some of your projects are coming along.

Lori, how is that BBQ planter doing, and your other beds you planted?

Chris are your beds rebounding from the winter vole damage?

Charleen how is your chicken proofing methods working for your semps?

Linda how is that new bed of yours coming along? Would love to see photos of it.

I'm all recovered from winter damage, and now the worm damage is under control too. I keep meaning to take some pictures of the beds, but it won't stop raining long enough!

We have sunshine, glorious sunshine. : ) It feels so good outside right now. Sighhhhhhh.

There is an alert going around Wisconsin this morning - there was a sighting up north. Someone actually saw a few minutes of sunshine!!! Maybe it's headed our way!

As long as I have wire over my plants , they are safe. If not they would scratch everything up.

That's is true Charleen, they do till the soil. But in the process they get rid of many bad bugs.
