Thank you Janice, this year was particularly fun with the other alpine type plants added last fall.
This one was put in the bed late fall. It just started blooming yesterday. It is small and plays nicely with the semps & jovis.
I really like the beds when they mature. All the colors patches remind me of a quilt. I'm amazed these plants aren't more popular - they're so easy and neat and tidy compared to just about everything else. Pictures like these are probably going to help get more people hooked.
I agree. I started gardening about three year ago and have learned a lot about plants. I was slow at getting started as I was a full-time student on a very tight budget. I finally purchased one semp at Homedepot last spring and fell in love with it. I then purchased another in fall and saw how resilient it was as I plucked its chicks and moved it several times to different areas. I have had collected many plants from trades and many of them did not survive. This is the one plant out of all others that I have that is forgiven, generous, and astoundingly beautiful to watch all year round. So, I sold the other plants and made some money just to purchased the semp collection this spring. I may be relocating several more times but this is the only plant that I can pack its many cultivars in my suitcases and take them wherever I go.
Tabby it is amazing what they do in one year. That bed is beautiful, and I love the way you have inter-planted it with other plants that play well with the semps. So pretty.
Can't wait to see the new bed filled out.
I love the way you have other plants mixed in with your semps too. Gorgeous! Your little gnome seems to be staring at a plant trying to make it grow! So cute!
