I grow Souvenier de la Malmaison in zone 6a . I protect it during winter with mulch at the base just like I do for my other roses .It has survived two winters including the past icy winter. The exposed rose canes were coated with ice for weeks! This past winter, I had some cane die back from some of my hybrid teas/grandfloras (Tiffany, Grenada, Lagerfeld) but not Souvenier. All of the roses mentioned are on their own roots. I like this rose so much that I decided to try some more antique roses - From Melva!
