They say that gallicas need a cold period. We both definitely get that! I don't grow any, yet, but am considering Charles de Mills from Melva. I am glad to read that your Crimson Gallica is surviving. I topped off my roses and my strawberries with cow manure. They seem to like that. I need to spray again with Bayer disease control formula, if it ever stops raining. In the meantime, I have been washing off the aphids with soapy water and spraying them with my neems/baking soda/soap mix. Winston the pug is beginning to enjoy gardening. He naps on the sidewalk, keeping an eye on me. I knit and felted a garden gnome hat for him. I have to get some pics of that! (I also knit him a fez...) There is a website that has patterns for cat hats, but they fit small dogs also....

Sorry to get off topic, Melva, but maybe you need a laugh. I found a good feature on hmf. Here is a link to Melva's rose garden. You can click the links to check out the roses she is selling if you are too lazy to type them.
