I love me some Ezells! Rolling on the floor laughing (for those not "in the know" Ezells is a chicken place in this neighborhood!)
Mark, its from walking in this neighborhood and seeing all the Hen & Chicks that I first began to take an interest, they seem to do different things all through the year, so its been exciting seeing them in other people's yards...now I have many types in my own yard Hurray!

I too love your brick paths. You must have spent a lot of time putting them all down.

less then a week. the soil is silt so dig flip cut lay brick in dirt sweep dirt over top. I replaced a lava rock path and that was harder then the new stuff but now if you want it in sand or mortar and level Grumbling thats what takes the time. And you got to mow your path. around here every inch of dirt becomes grass or creeping buttercup. and morning glory you got to watch that one. when we got the place it had grown up into the cedar clapboard when i pulled them they grew back down out of the clapboard! Granted that was before i had done the outside but damn. that stuff is a weed here i was surprised to find out that people collect it!! Guess its just like the blackberries that grow everywhere, one mans .... et ct

Lynn - Free bricks? Blinking
The nisqually quake made sure of that. the brick is free from all over. some of it is reusable but just about all the brick is no good for structural work. Most of this stuff is between 80 and 40 years old

Dick, I didn't know you had such a difficult time. That would for sure knock the stuffings out of me.
That was a huge tree.
It is good to see you back and the house repaired. Have you started on another green house? Were you able to save any of the plants?

yes i lost a lot of plants
but i am also surprised at the resilience of some that came back from crushed and ignored
then the rest were sitting on the deck thru out the summer and most of the fall
then i finally got the new green house built
you can see it to the right and behind the house in this pict taken this Nov

Oh...awful! We built a house in the Northwest years ago and in clearing the land, there were some trees that I was reluctant to take down.....foolish of me, but I was a lot younger then. If/ when we move back into an area that gets that kind of rain and waterlogged ground, I will want large trees kept at a distance. Your pics have convinced me even more.
I could be wrong...
