Nice pics. I planted Festiva Maxima (or that is what it is suppose to be) last fall. Won't know for sure until it blooms. Nice to have see some gardeners photos of what it should look like. I wish I had gotten Red Charm and Bowl of Beauty but alas, there is this fall to add them LOL.

Foxglove in the background? Your garden is filled with blooms.

Nice garden shots. Thank you for sharing them. Peonies are still a ways off here, though the really early ones have buds.

Early Scout. Seems as though being nearly a month later than usual is better for the plants. The fernies were outstanding this year and this Early Scout is better than normal. Next up should be Roselette with most of the others breaking out close to Memorial Day, as was normal 50 years ago.Thumb of 2013-05-02/Oldgardenrose/251f90

Julia - yes those are foxgloves. It has been a bumper crop year for them. I had seedlings by the hundreds since they produce sooooo many seeds.

Jerry - nice Early Scout. I should be receiving my first ever fernleaf in the mail soon Big Grin

Roselette from a large bud brought inside and opened overnight. Having a cold drizzle today and outside pics are a bummer.Thumb of 2013-05-03/Oldgardenrose/dbb7ce

We are looking at highs of mid-fifties for the next few days with a lot of rain. Coming off 80 degrees that is a letdown. The only bright side is last year we were in a moderate to severe drought and this spring we are looking at flooding. The Lord works in mysterious ways. This is an afternoon pic during a break between showers.Thumb of 2013-05-03/Oldgardenrose/3c0b7b

Roselette in full bloom finally. Other peonies are just cracking their buds open and showing a hint of color. Probably 3 more weeks before full bloom.Thumb of 2013-05-06/Oldgardenrose/eecccc

This has been a strange Spring. There is a lot more to global warming than just warming. Whether it is man-made or natural, it surely screws up the gardening process.

Roselette is beautiful and all those blooms seem perfectly placed to open. Nice.

We will drop down in temps here too. We've enjoyed 70's but rain is on the way and the temps will start dropping into the 60's. I'm okay with the rain. We could use it as I noticed it is getting hard to weed and cooler temps make working outside easier.
It is feast or famine, right?

Nice peony shots folks!! My Fernies and Roselette are thinking strongly about popping. So is my Roy Pherson's Best Yellow. In the next few days we should have blooms! Smiling

Lovely blooms Dianne and Jerry. I love the delicate color of Roselette. We have also had a lot of rain here, I didn't get to appreciate the bloom of Merry Mayshine before it got beaten up by the rains, and the buds on my Immaculee blasted because of the chilly, damp weather. The blooms on the other plants are doing well however.

Wow - what an impressive array of blooms. Hurray!

I thought I have a bowl of beauty - but it doesn't look like yours. will have to post that and see what you think.

Dianne, I've found that Bowl of Beauty has blooms with different shapes on the same plant. I post pics if I see it happening this year. My other peonies have nice buds, and I'm looking forward to seeing some of them bloom for the first time, that were planted in 2009.

Thanks Julia. I can't wait for fall either. I've got 9 potted peonies that need to be planted in the garden. I'm waiting till then when the ground cools down again. I have no idea of what we have coming for summer weather, and I don't want the new plants to get stressed out.
