Hurray! Borderexedenia's seeds are viable! These are the seeds from the first batch (2 seed horns).

Ripened on Sunday (soaked a few seeds last night to test) as the seeds look too tiny and not plump:

Tonight look, the seeds are plump and some are already starting to sprout. I am glad as the momma plant is deep red with beautiful blooms. I am glad I soaked a few seeds Whistling

sadly the Momma plant got sunburned when I moved it to full sun to get my Adenium set up organized (from shade to full sun is fatal). It looks like the scion is not going to make it but I am hoping I can save the cuttings once the 2 seedpods ripen. I grafted some for backup already.

I'm following the wet paper towel method for now.

Comparing with Pink Pearl (the big seeds, also viable seeds - 💯 germination):

tall ones are Pink Pearl:

GigiAdeniumPlumeria said:I can't always water the seedlings because I have to go to work. The adult ones can handle my neglect.

That's another advantage to starting the seeds indoors. As I'm waiting for the tea kettle to heat up, I can do a quick spraying of the tops when they're really small, or water them from the top every 2 days like the routine is now. And it's never more than once a day.

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! for more beautiful seeds!

Now I feel bad for all the seeds that were not plump that I tossed. Clearly if these were not Borderexdenia's seeds I would have tossed these thinking they are empty or dud seeds without even trying to germinate. D'Oh! that is why soaking (and now the wet paper method) is a good extra step for me since I don't have time to pot them up until this weekend.
Thumb of 2024-05-02/GigiAdeniumPlumeria/e1a719

These were in the toss pile too, and I just picked them up to soak, only 2 are duds! The rest plumped up, soaked last night.

I'm sorry to say that a mouse killed some of my Adneiums. One of the twins were trying to put out leaves. Both were brutally killed. 💔
I'll be putting out a trap tonight to catch the filthy killer. Meanwhile the survivors will be put under protective cover during the night.

Crying I'm so sorry Anne! We don't have mice but we have a lot of oleander caterpillars that just loves to devour my poor seedlings.

A few more seedlings from Etsy seeds and mine bloomed today. They are all single petals but not complaining as each one looks different from the others. And I don't mind to be surrounded by pink.

Here's a couple from my crosses, both have yellow throat. So I can't even guess who the momma is.

Test soaking if the seeds will plump up and if seeds are viable:
4/05/24 midnight: I purposely chose the thin ones to see if they plump up
Thumb of 2024-05-04/GigiAdeniumPlumeria/60c2f7

4/06/24: 9 am all are now plump (now me in panic 🙀 mode realizing I will need more space to grow these)
Thumb of 2024-05-04/GigiAdeniumPlumeria/c97f18

Side by side for comparison (so my advice, do not skip the soaking 12+ hours if possible):

I will never toss "not plump" seeds again !

Hilarious! She does look short with those huge flowers, they seem to dwarf her! Gigi is 7.5". She paused her top growth to put out flowers while the others just kept growing taller... but I wish they all flowered instead.

And she wears her "crown of flowers" proudly and elegantly. We might have to add "Princess Gigi" 👸🏻 on her name.

I agree, "Princess Gigi" definitely fits with that crown of flowers! At first I was hoping some would point up so they'd be spaced out more, but I think the size and weight of them keeps them aiming downward.

Yes! The blooms are too big and way too heavy for her to keep it pointing up. Now she needs to teach my other ones to bloom! I will show them her photo.

I think the AgroThrive is working, the buds of my seedlings and adult adeniums that keep dropping off for no reason are starting to keep growing. So I am hoping to see my seedlings bloom finally. I have given them two doses so far and I could see buds are getting bigger instead of turning brown and falling off.

I'm also seeing a lot of buds Hurray! on my other ones.
