Can't remember if I told you but I have mine growing on the bottom shelf of an old bookcase and while watering plants on the top shelf noticed something back behind the pots...the epi had sent out a "runner" and it was making for the ceiling! Rolling on the floor laughing In trying to bring it back down towards the pot, it broke off, I did plant it, not expecting much, its doing great!! Love how easy they root for me! Hurray!

Ah yes your epi escape artist! My plant will be staying outdoors everyday, since I have seen it survive quite well our winter..so if it plans to do a similar escape, it can go anywhere it likes Smiling

Photo update,Gymnocalycium monvillei doing its 2013 bloom show:
Bud is closed from sunset to early morning:
Thumb of 2013-05-14/tarev/291fed

As temps continue to warm up the rest of the day preferably hitting the upper 80's to 90F, gradually it blooms:

I like that it take turns doing the bloom show, after it totally finishes the first one for about a week, then the next bud follows. Big Grin

Tarev! wow, how cool! Love it! It really is an interesting color! Whitish, pinkish, lavenderish! ("spell check" wants me to make a space between "lavender" and "ish" but accepts Whitish and pinkish...funny??) Anyway, thanks for taking several photos so we can see the time frame!! nodding Thumbs up

Haworthia mucronata..this came from Chris last May 2012, - has settled really well, as long as I put it in shade, overwintered very nicely outdoors and now sending a bloom stalk:

Haworthia limifolia, always a resilient one, easily makes runners, and also getting ready for some blooms:

Just thought to share the roots of my ever resilient Haworthia limifolia. This one got disturbed by the flailing leaves of my amaryllis..it has been windy here..so even if the Haworthia looks so sullen, too reddish/yellowish, almost looking like it is dying, it is not..it is actually recovering now, and hopefully it will attempt as well to make some blooms like the other ones on the other container. This one got reddish to the point like it is dead coz it was placed before in a high pole and I guess got baked in the sun, then getting all the cold during winter.
