Thank you guys! Ok I think your right that is a 'Devil's Backbone' . Still trying to figure out the rest and it that one is a Kalachoe. Not sure. Hopefully you guys can take another look from the pic's of the whole plant that he cut them from.

Greg I will just leave them alone for now and see how they do. Ill have to stick them in another pot because that soil is a bit moist for them Im thinking.

My Grandmother used to grow that plant. It gets huge so you may want to put it in a pot to itself. We're talking 3 feet tall and bushy. It's awesome though!

The other one that you guys are saying is a kalachoe doesnt really look right. This one that he brought has round leaves. Here is a better picture of it.

2nd pic looks like a plant that my in-laws had called queen of hearts. It can be a ground cover. But if you look up queen of hearts, you get the more infamous rat-eating plant. Will try to look for other common name for what you got.

What beautiful and interesting plants Jackie. You have a very thoughtful husband.
I have seen that plant in the second photo, but can't remember the name.
Is this it? Aptenia?

I know now from the photos that it isn't peperomia...maybe aptenia! Sure is a pretty plant Lynn!
Jackie that purple one still looks like a kalanchoe to me, some type similar to this

Hmmmm thank you all for your help.

I think it could be the aptenia!!! Looks very very close to it! Thank you Lynn ill look that up here on my lunch break and take a better look.

Greg, I do think your right about the other one being a kalanchoe. Looks close as well. I have some better close up shots of the plants that might help as well.

Thank you all for trying to help me out. I just want to be able to research them and make sure I am providing what they need to thrive.

Jackie, here is another Forum that might be helpful. Many of these people can actually grow these plants outdoors year round.
I'm just a tiny bit jealous of that. *Blush* http://garden.org/forums/view/...

Thank You Lynn! Been busy at work but as soon as I get home I will be in full research mode! Thumbs up

I know my hubby is going to be making me a greenhouse and even said I could get a heater for it and try and keep it warm all winter so that would probably work as well! Very exciting Hurray!
