Bev love the wood, I agree with Chris it has personality!
Holly what a great idea! I'm totally gonna copy that! Although me and glue isn't a good combo! One of the pots I recently bought from a friend who was moving broke in half (I think its old) and I glued it together with gorilla glue...glue all over my fingers (should have worn gloves) glue on rocks so as I'm planting up other pots I go to grab a rock and it isn't budging - seriously??? Thumbs down Rolling on the floor laughing Glad it was outdoors and I didn't have anything of real value nearby!
I tip my hat to you.

Bev I love your driftwood!!! It's hard to find it at the coast anymore. The great piece I HAD... Well, it was laying on the lawn and I later found in split in half plus another piece or two broken off. "DH" had THROWN it out of his way when he was mowing the lawn. He did NOT understand why I was upset and was totally unsympathetic when I tried to explain. Sad I may try to wire it together, but for now I'm too bummed to tackle it. I did buy 3 new pots yesterday which I love though. They are matching medium, large and big, square, squatty, with feet. I think they were for bonsai. They were 40% off so I'm pretty happy. I'm leaving my dads early tomorrow so I can go home and plant them. I'm taking the new babies out of the beds and into pots, which the jay doesn't seem to mess with. When they multiply and I don't have to worry so much about losing their ID I'll risk the beds again.

That sounds pretty Patty!!! I love semps in bonsai pots! (I love semps anywhere actually!) Sticking tongue out Hope the jay figures it out and leaves you and your plants alone!! I tip my hat to you. Have a good easter! I looked at some pots the other day and they were $35 each, don't want to pay that!!! Can't believe anyone would - but I guess someone does! Hurray! I tip my hat to you.

Oh I love pots that are family (Papa, Mama and baby...) Sorry to hear about your wood. Reminds me of the time I saw the utility man step squarely on top of my 2 foot tall large fuschia-tip-leafed cotyledon and when I confronted him about it, he said "What plant? I didn't see a plant!!"
Well, Patty, if we aren't going to see the large wood planting, we hope to see the family planter plantings!! Whistling Hurray!

Hurray! Patty, use some of Greg's glue to put the wood back together. But wear gloves. Whistling
Greg, that sounds like something I would do. Hilarious!
Can't wait to see a photo of the new pots.

Bev, does the utility man still have a job?

Here's the sifter planter thing and the new pots I got. I moved some of the ID'd babies into them in hopes the Jay will leave them alone...

Super nice and done so fast; boy you don't mess around, Patty. I like the rustic-ness of the sifter planter which carries the larger semps well. My favorites are the bonsai-esque planters! I like the different levels of the planter family... nodding

I was definitely motivated by those Jays to get it done! They had pulled up a baby and left it laying in the path ... With no ID! Luckily I was able to match it to a sib but next time I may not be so lucky. Those crazy birds!!! Or maybe I'm crazy for trying to reform and get with the ID program. Shrug! so far they are still leaving the pots alone...

Love the sifter thingy, and the rocks go so well with the semps.
That is odd that the birds will play with the semps in the beds, but not in pots. I have never had them bother my containers.
Beautiful trio of blue containers. Lovey dubby
