Wow, I thought our 3 inches for the week was a lot. But we live up from the river drain (giant creek) so we are lucky it mostly drains off our property. My heart goes out to you!

Most of ours will drain off in a couple of days. As long as the plant roots hold they'll be okay...even the half-submerged yucca will be fine. Smiling

I brought my seedlings indoors and set the new perennials under cover for the night. I think my whole family breathed a sigh of relief over that decision! Hilarious!

Something with long views?
I have kept a photo journal on another gardening site for the last several years. Its free. Am not familiar with GardenPhotos.

Thumb of 2013-04-20/Jewell/3f4f0f this photo was on my iPad and looking from the bed by the patio back to the bed by the fenced garden area. These beds were started in 2009 and have gotten a little bigger each year. Here is the same bed catching the hydrengea, but not the hellebores taken in 2009. Many of the hellebores were seedlings moved from the front yard patch. I also made the bed with the hydrengea bigger to hold the hellebores. Paths keep getting smaller and beds bigger Whistling I don't seem to be able to control things Lovey dubby *Blush* Grumbling not sure how I feel about that. Rolling my eyes.

When should I remove those windburned leaves?"

Chelle, That is a real eye catcher! I don't think i've ever seen one so velvety black/purple. I remove the old leaves just before flowering. It is easier. You can do it any time if it is just the burned leaves.

Jewel Hilarious! Hilarious! I think that seems to a common problem with lots of us! Every winter I look at all the plants I've taken cuttings from in the fall and how they've taken over my home and I determine that next fall I'm not gonna do it again. Next fall comes and the plants are so pretty I don't want them to die so I take slips or sometimes bring the pots in and pretty soon it's just as bad or worse than the winter before. Whistling Sticking tongue out I'm not sure how I feel about it either but worse I'm not sure if I can do anything about it! Blinking Confused

This one was a gift from a generous ATP member. Lovey dubby It's a seedling of Blue Lady.

Thanks for the leaf care info. Thumbs up I'll clip those off soon.

We have a thin layer of snow on the sidewalks this morning, but the sun is making an appearance! Hurray!

Rita, every day they get more beautiful.

Chelle, sorry to hear about your flooding. I have been unconnected for a few days, we had former neighbors from MD visiting over the weekend and it was our first farmers market for the year. Very successful. We also went to Calloway Gardens to see the azaleas. Everything was beautiful AND they were having a plant sale and I got my sweet olive oil have been unsuccessfully trying to propagate, a nice big one!!!!

Neighbors are fellow gardeners and we did our own mini plant exchange. Thumbs up

Our extra water has drained away and most of the plants look like they actually enjoyed it.

Sounds like a fun and busy time, Arlene. Glad to hear that you snagged some fine plants!

Extravaganza daffodils are all open today. I guess I'll pick some to bring indoors since more rain is in the overnight forecast.

Rita, your spring bulb beds are glorious today! Thick plantings really make a nice show. Thumbs up
Do you cut lots of those blooms to bring indoors?
