It turned out great!!! Better that I imagined!
All right. Step by step pictures of the pole bean project!
First off here I have two big pots of sugar snap type peas. In the second picture you can see how close this area is to the Driveway Farm. I simply moved these two pots onto the driveway.
Then I went and brought over these unused concrete edger thingies that I had sitting around and made a rectangle that the two bean towers could fit in. My idea last night was to put one bean tower and put these edgers around it to hold the dirt. But when I started I realised I had enough room and enough edgers to make the bed to fit both towers.
I put newspaper down inside on top of the grass and then I started hauling soil that I had left over from a project last year just sitting in a pile by the garage alleyway. Just filled it with a topping of soil and placed the two towers that the pole beans will climb up.
A view of everything.
I planted 25 bean seeds around the inside of each towers. These towers are sturdy and strong and tall. 5 feet tall. After planting I watered.
Views of pretty much everything.
I planted two types of beans, one on each tower. These are seeds I bought from GourmetSeed.com. A black seeded variety of Blue Lake Pole Beans and a burgundy french pole bean.
The burgundy beans are a purple podded French Filet bean. So looking forward to trying these. I have never grown a purple bean before, nor have I tried the French Fillet types before. They are all supposed to have superier flavor. Link for my variety called COSSE VIOLETTO

The other is a Black Seeded Blue Lake Variety. I commonly grow Blue Lake but didn't know there was a black seeded type.
