Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Bev, isn't that crazy that Lynn did that! (Fed water moccasins.)

Twit, I almost lost the entire clump one winter during those 6 years, so it had to pretty much start over. The only reason those individual ones are in there is because they fell off when I was repotting it, so I decided to see if they'd make it. I wouldn't just try to start a clump with one of those tiny ones otherwise.

Chris, twit and Cheryl, could the three of you post your photos on this thread, so we can find them easily? The thread "Meet the Orostachys" in Sempervivum forum

Bev, you can see them with or without the flashlight. Big Grin
See, food is effective in going straight to the heart of even a water mocassin. Lovey dubby

Twit you received your O. minuta from me. I have plenty, so if yours doesn't make it. I can send you more. If I remember correctly, Tabby and I have two different O. minuta. My O. minuta doesn't get any bigger than a dime. I will try to take a picture of mine today.

I thought it was you or Tabby, but didn't want to speculate for fear of offending. My memory is so "unpredictable" these days. (Gosh, that does make me sound old, doesn't it??). I lost all of the adults, but I did have 12 offsets last year that made it through the winter. So I think I will be OK, but I worry because they are so tiny (but growing rapidly right now) It's one of the smallest semps (meant generically to include the jovi's, oro's, etc) that I have. They looked so nice when they bloomed.

I should be OK, but hope you can help Lynn out (if she wants them). If we do end up trading this year, perhaps a few more would help get a colony going. However, I'd be more concerned about O. spinosa. The one I had was a victim of winter. Not sure if I'll be doing much, if any, trading this year though, due to stuff going on here. My health's a bit shaky at the moment and the parents need all the time I have to give. You and Tabby sent me some very, very nice plants last year. Many many thanks. Group hug If I have anything you need, please let me know.

Finally got a good pic of my Oro. minutum. They are really small. The white particles you see are Perlite and the gravel chunks all are less than 1/4" sifted.

Thanks Greg and Kate. I was on Geiger's site yesterday and saw that he has a bunch of different varieties of Orostachys for sale, including 3 apparently different forms of these (or closely related). What a shame he is in Europe.

I've bought from them in the past, they are a great source of hard to find plants and seeds.
I looks like they don't have orostachys available right now.

A few days ago I bought a new plant ... it is labeled

Simpervivum "Little Green Gem" I cannot find it in the Database and wonder if is incorrectly named by Timberline Nursery

Can you help me?

The variations for naming these plants may be the worst part of this hobby. Hilarious!

I'm not sure ,Marilyn, that all is listed in the database until someone proposes it to be or that there is not enough info to coincide with what's already there? Confused
